AAC believerThis writer obviously likes several teams in the AAC to possibly make a statement this year:

Re: AAC believerAs it should be as The American continues to make the case it is head and shoulders above the other G5 conferences - we just need to keep proving it on the field.

Re: AAC believerOur mission, should we accept it, is to contend for AAC titles on a yearly basis in FB, MBB,WBB, MS and WS.
Re: AAC believerOur facilities and planned upgrades are in place to not only contend, but to dominate the AAC in golf, tennis and aquatics for both men and women with good coaching and recruiting. We need to take a deep dive and keep an eye on the ball, so to speak.
Re: AAC believerI don't know that this article makes anyone an AAC believer. He had to write an article on G5 teams that might make the New Years Six and if we didn't have at least two or three in there I'd be very disappointed.
My expectation for this coming season for our Mustangs is to make a bowl, btw.
Re: AAC believerI'm not saying we should all be AAC nuts. But all I ever hear in beverage emporiums, in which I have substantial experience, is why do we complain when we get clobbered in the AAC. How can one debate that and not be advised to go call Uber.
Re: AAC believer
Sounds good, but add VB to the list.
Re: AAC believerIf this conference is going to move up then we need for each other to capitalize on the non-conference opportunities and there looks to be more than a few of them this season.
Houston again has the chance to be the standard bearer with games against two strong P5 programs that are down - Texas Tech is a mess right now with only WR's being a strength and Arizona seems to have stagnated. I believe the Cougars can beat both. Memphis continues it's recent smart and opportunistic home scheduling with UCLA coming to town. UCLA is picked by many to be second in their division this year but I can totally see Memphis winning this game the Bruins are going to be reliant on a couple of true freshmen on defense in order to keep Memphis from scoring. UConn also has a couple of beatable programs on the schedule; both Virginia and BC are picked at the bottom of their respective divisions and the Huskies beat the Cavs last year. Same thing with UCF and their games against Ga Tech and Maryland; totally winnable. Tech will be a bigger challenge while I expect the Knights to beat Maryland for some payback after last year. USF should whip Illinois. Tulsa could be within striking distance of Okie State and ECU looks to be better this year - they always pull an upset and this year they have Va Tech and West Virginia. With a couple of reasonable upsets the AAC could have another winning record against the Big XII this year.
Re: AAC believerI want TCU.
Re: AAC believerWe need to start by being more competitive against TCU
Re: AAC believer
We have been able to hang with them at times. We had the ball down 8 in the 4th at TCU in 2015. Shake It Off Moody

Moral victory? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Peruna is my mascot!
Re: AAC believer
Not sure that should apply at this point. It is about time we gave them a game. It was 3-3 late in the first half at Ford last year but then it got out of hand in the second half. Shake It Off Moody
Re: AAC believerIn the interim, our home schedule this season embarrasses me. So what are we doing to help the conference in football???
