In or Out?Heather Dinich of ESPN has us in at #11 as far as the seeding goes.

Re: In or Out?And at #10 as far as the rankings go
Re: In or Out?
SMU-Texas indeed would be a great match because of all the pre-game talk about SWC history.
Re: In or Out?Would be really great to see 2 ACC teams get in and I would love to play Texas in Austin but I just can't see the committee giving the Big 10 four teams and the SEC only 3, so my bet is that Alabama gets the nod over SMU and our "consolation prize" is to be matched up against Iowa State in a bowl game. This feels so much like Selection Sunday for March Madness
Re: In or Out?Out and if not, we get sent to South Bend. We know how it works.
Re: In or Out?We have a better chance of Santa Claus bring us gifts on Christmas morning than a NCAA ‘committee ’ doing the right thing. Say hello to the Rudabaga Bowl I’m sure the committee will fund some pathetic excuse to get another SEC team in
Re: In or Out?Sadly, Out. I only watch SMU football so it's good basketball season has started.
Re: In or Out?Out.
Two field goals and several decades of ineptitude don't beat "legacy" programs. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: In or Out?I think what needs to be brought to the main focus is when you look at the strength of schedule metric, Vanderbilt cancelled a September 14th matchup with SMU in fear of getting destroyed (which would of happened). Said team beat Alabama. Enough said. SMU should be in, but we all know that may not be reality.

Re: In or Out?Sadly, we are out. I was really tired of hearing "what if smu loses?" And it turns out...well we all saw what happened.
Re: In or Out?We know this comes down to SMU vs Bama for the last invitation and we are reasonably certain how that will turn out but nobody is even talking about 11-1 Indiana that got smoked by Ohio State (the only strong Big 10 opponent they faced this year). Their best conference win was against 5-4/7-5 Michigan. And let's not even talk about the Notre Dame bias that exists. It's all about the TV ratings and everyone knows that so I will be really surprised if SMU gets in.
If a bowl game against Big XII runner up Iowa State is going to be our consolation prize, I sure hope our guys play with a chip on their shoulders and we at least go 2-1 against the Big XII this year
Re: In or Out?If SMU doesn’t get in, they should do away with the conference championships. Why would teams already in going into those games want to play when the downside of being excluded altogether far exceeds the upside of getting a bye.
However, I always suspected when it comes to SMU there is different criteria applied. I felt that the only way for us to be in was to win, and knew that for us to have a shot at still being in, the game had to be absolutely close. Given how we lost in an essentially away game, it would establish a terrible precedent if we’re not in. But it’s college football. It’s bit public school bias. It’s SEC bias. It will be Alabama bias. My heart says we’re in, but really unsure.
Re: In or Out?
You’re right about those three teams but ND is legitimate. Their D is elite and they have a working offense now that they didn’t during the NIU loss. As much as I hate to admit it, I think Perv St is also a top 10 team. That would have changed if the loss last night had not been competitive but it was. I think Indiana is overrated. Best win was to an avg Michigan team by 5 points. They got whooped by Oh St. I think we beat IU, it’s a toss up against Perv State. At least IU won’t be hosting a game. Not deserved.
Re: In or Out?If we're not in, please give us a bowl against another P3 team!
Re: In or Out?I think we’re in! For the first time, they will do the right thing.
