I can guarantee that if a person takes ambien (sp?), they can consent to many things and it is also a sexual stimulant, but the person taking the drug will not recall much if anything the next day. The main question I would ask is who administered the drug. If the girl took a drug such as this on her own even though it was someone elses, they could have well thought she had her full sense about her. If they slipped her the drug then they should get what they deserve. I am not trying to speculate on what happened but can speak from experience around a person who takes ambien.

Anyone can consent to ANYTHING on Ambien. That stuff is scary. I dated a girl recently who took it to sleep and she could have whole conversations that lasted 2 hours and have ZERO memory of anything the next day. Not picking any sides here. It is sad for all parties involved. The outcome is not good rather what the girl is saying is true or not. I know a sister of one of the Duke lacross guys and their lives were completely torn apart. If its not true its almost impossible to repair.

I'd be interested to know how it can be determined whether a drug was administered "without her knowledge."

I know someone who had a 'mickey' slipped into their soda at The Ballpark last summer with near fatal results. The doctors at the emergency room conducted tests to determine exactly which drug she had been given 'without her knowledge'.

They only thing saving us from taking a major media hit nationally is that Oregon's starting QB got arrested for burglary and 2 Michigan State players being charges with assault.

Let me repeat this one more time for Insane, this happens everywhere. Tennessee basketball suspended 4 for robbery. Minnesota basketball has a problem with two players right now. Arizona's Dan Buckner got busted while he was at Texas, Arkansas basketball suspended 6 or 7 before the season started because of a sexual assault issue I believe.

Do I need to go on? I shouldn't have had to repeat this. Think you got just a wee bit defensive.

This also happens at the SAE house, the ATO house, the KEG house, . . . you just don't always hear about it. I am willing to bet that the general student population at SMU has had more infractions with the law than the Football team in the last 5 years . . .

No, but I am saying that could have been the case in this situation possibly.

It is very possible that with the right drug it could have been consensual but she may not have had any idea what she was doing, nor would she have consented without the drug. That is the type scenario that will probably make this a very difficult case for both sides. The key will be to determine who gave her what drug.

What's the timeline like here? I guess he's in jail in dallas now...when will he be transferred, when will he be arraigned, when is bond possible, trial etc? I know he and the other two involved have more important issues, but at what point in the semester does it become a wash where hopes of having enough credits to be eligible is gone?

Does anyone remember this type of incident happening to Lorenzo Jones of TCU Football, no I'm sure you don't, but he was accused of this same type of offense in it was in the news everywhere. One day me and my boys were talking about him and we wondered what ever happen to him, he was on a recruiting trip with my oldest boy in 2005 and he was the big talk everyone wanted him. He and another player at TCU were both suspended from the team. I googled his name and his case was dismissed he no longer plays football and he had been recently shot in NC where he later moved to get away and start over, he will never be the same nor will the girl I'm sure.
I'm a Lady and I have 1 daughter and 2 boys and I have to stay prayed up. You tell your kids over and over types of situation that can get you and trouble and you hope they listen. I know for sure each time I hear anything going on at SMU, I can't breath until I hear from my son. When I heard about this I couldn't call my son quick enough, I kept dropping the phone and he was calling me at the same time, telling me I just can't believe it Mama Pittman is like really soft hearted. I am really straight forward with my boys I allow open conversation so that I can be able to tell them exactly what I think about things. I told him that I know you boys think that is some type of sexual fantasy, but I told him This!! It is NEVER wise to have sex with one girl with several guys a threesome or whatever yall want to call it. Drunk or Not it is Nasty and too many diseases out there and guess what sometimes when a Girl/Lady wakes up from that experience she might say, you know I feel bad about doing that I never wanted to have sex with two people and this is drunk or not. And before anyone says anything I'm not saying this is what happen in this case. Even in my day and to them I'm old this occurred to girls in high school and in my college. I also said just don't share your Woman and Your Money. You see we raise these kids to become young adults and hope that they make it to the other side like we did without any cuts, scrapes or permanent bruises. Now we have to say without any offenses. Because I know that I was raised right and I know that myself and others gave beer to several kids in my high school band and it got back to the band director when we got back to school and we all were paddled and case closed. To this date my Mom doesn't know about this it wasn't my beer and I didn't even put it in the thermals but I knowingly passed it around like it was a joke. I didn't even drink it myself because I knew it was beer. I also drove reckless with my friends in the car and still wonder how a train missed our car when we all were speeding across the track. My daughter the oldest once came home drunk, so drunk that her friend who drove called my baby boy to come in carry her in the house. Now I wasn't aware of this until one day he was mad at her since they are all grown and he let that out. I said all this to say this, you pray each and everyday that your kids make the right decisions and if they do experience something that it is just a wake up call and nothing so severe. I feel for all involved because like I said I'm the mother of both sex.

The current story is very confusing. From some accounts, it sounds like the prescripton drug was hers and not some date rape drug but something that did react with the alcohol. I guess we will find out at some point.

Just hoping that he is innocent...Jones seemed to be very surprised that it was Pittman...of all the players, he didn't think such would be the case. Just hope that all turns out well!
