Saban not concerned with conference expansion until……

When asked for his thoughts on expansion fever in college football Saban referred to a trip Monday to Long Beach, Calif., where he and Texas coach Mack Brown shot an ESPN GameDay commercial.

"I think Mike Slive has done a fantastic job with our league," Saban said of the Southeastern Conference commissioner. "I wasn't as concerned about it until out in California on Monday; I visited with Mack Brown a little bit. He was very concerned about it, because ... he's concerned about what would happen to their (Big 12) league. What happens to their league may affect our league a little bit, but I'm sure Mike and the people in the SEC office are way ahead of the curve on that one."

Here are two basic truths to consider:

When Nebraska loses it's exposure into the Texas High School market, it will become permanently insignificant in the Big 10 (like Arkansas has in the SEC).

The Big 12 will not take another team that doesn't field a baseball team.

Arkansas may win the SEC this year...Nebraska will be better in the Big 10 than the Big 12...

Here's an even more basic truth to consider: The Big 12 will not take a Texas school.

The end.

Nebraska will be better because the Big 10 will be a much higher profile conference than the big 12 ever will be or has been....

They also have dedicated themselves to improving the product....

I'm sure the Albuquerque and Santa Fe TV markets have the Big 12 salivating!

Well then I guess we could set up a mobile home classroom in Lousiana and hope the Big 12 would take us before a tornado did.

I think the Big 10 is thinking too small. I think they should expand to 96 teams. 8 divisions of 12 teams each. Let the division champs play it off for a true conference champion. Hell they can even call it a National Champion if they want to. TCU will probably cry because they're team #97 and got locked out again, but hey, it happens.
