You ignore my question. Explain dinosaurs! Let us hear the great wisdom of the ancients you discuss so much!

I mean people have individual beliefs in all walks of life, but you can't have religion in the classroom in ALL areas of education.

Religion is as irrelevant to science as it is to engineering.

I don't disagree, but if you are also saying they are mutually exclusive then I do.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

By the way, I'd also argue that Engineering and Computer Science are vocational training, not education. But that's another topic altogether 8)

Just believing in God doesn't instantly give you all the answers. If anything it makes you more cognizant of your ignorance. Dinosaurs apparently evolved from other creatures.

What do you think?

Actually, no, it is not.

Computer science is concerned with creating programs. Religion is not a computer program. Hence, religion is not taught in computer science.

Science is concerned with what can be measured and proven. Religion cannot be tested or proven. Hence, religion is not taught in science.

At the risk of perpetuating the debate, science is based on evidence, not faith. As a believer, they are separate tracts for both debate topics are crucial for man, but important to separate, since they should not compete for truth. There is truth in both.

You coward. You spend all this time arguing that religion has something to say, and then when asked what that is, you say nothing.

How can you possibly argue that religion should be taught in science class, when you yourself respond with only silence? Would you have a day of silence in class? If silence is all you believe religion has to offer, then let us consider fall break a period of "religious learning."

Evolution is flawless.

Oh boy. Computer science is not a science. But let's go with it as if it was.

Using science to form a belief that God does not exist is a leap of faith. One could just as easily take the Big Bang, for instance, as evidence of the creation account from the Bible and draw the conclusion that He does in fact exist.

Bottom line here. This is an argument between two sides, each of which has points with weight and merit. That is the VERY PURPOSE OF EDUCATION, to have such arguments and allow students to come to their own conclusions. Showing up with the answers -- whether in religion or science -- is not education. It's indoctrination, the very thing liberal thinkers very rightly used to criticize intransigent, nonthinking believers.

I saw a cool show last night showing the DNA links between birds & dinosaurs. They were able to show the regression of teeth into the rigid toothless beak birds have today, as well as scales to feathers. Did you know scales and feathers are made of almost identical proteins, meaning the evolution from scales to feathers wasn't a huge leap in the grand scheme of things?

I'll try to find the link & post.
