OU has the permanent Texas game in Dallas. Flip it around though, do they really want to go to 2 divisions and have OU and Texas never able to play in the champ game? I suppose one jinky thing they could do is ignore the division winners and have the two highest ranked schools meet in the champ game. basically the divisions just become a scheduling framework for keeping local rivalries. I'm sorry but why does WVU not make sense? Its a one hour time difference, big state school, large following, been to BCS bowls, etc. I don't see how they can be totally discounted.

or this. Put Houston or SMU in the South and put the other one plus TCU in the North. Balances the current power a bit to have TCU in the North, and gives North schools a Metroplex or Houston game every year. So would be: North: Houston/SMU, TCU, Missouri, Kansas, K State, Iowa State. South: Texas, OU, OSU, Tech, Baylor, SMU/Houston

If that was the case, the West just became the old North division. Texas should win that division with little problems 4 out of 5 years and could lose a couple of games in the conference each year.

I still think BYU will have something to say about this. Not that it is a good barometer for what is going to happen but the overwhelming majority of Texas fans on their message boards are very unenthusiastic about TCU coming to the Big 12 and potentially threatening their strangehold on the state. We all know how Texas gets when they don't get their way.

1.8 million people in the entire state; that's 25% of DFW alone. Dreadful academic institution. Over 1,000 miles away Very, very, very regional appeal as a school. You already have OU, OSU, TU, ISU, KSU...why add another pedestrian, far away, land grant diploma mill? BYU has more of a national brand that WVU. WVU is a bottom feeder land-grant school for under performing mid-atlantic kids.

Unless you want to study marksmanship...then apparently it's a very quality institution of higher training...err learning.

I grew up in East TX like I said. No need to take marksmanship Funny thing is you actually had to take two years of Agricultural Science at my high school. I made a wood bow once!

UT's lack of enthusiasm has nothing to do with additional TV sets as I have posted previously. They simply don't want the Northern carpetbaggers getting a game in the hottest recruiting area in the State (DFW). Any other reason is a lie. Why do you think BU / TT and aggy/arky play in Dallas every year? Dods thinks one is enough.

College Football is RECRUITING. Football Season is really the off-season - just something these guys do when the Recruiting Season takes a break while the high school players are playing their schedules. If the Coaches have a voice the South Coaches will do anything they can to screw any team from getting access to Texas players. This used to be part of the Code of Honor until A&M screwed it up because they couldn't beat UT, OU, OSU, and TT on the field consistently

They might let SMU in if we promise not to recruit Texas Players until the Summer
