I'm not exactly sure-just the general scoop-but if I was Coach Fran's attorney I think I'd hold out for a lot more than 2 Million. He could have more if he waits a couple of weeks when these jobs start opening up.

Unless he thinks there is a chance to get nothing due to the newsletter scandal. In that case he could take $2,000,000, sign a contract for $1,000,000, move his wife back to where she is happy and then look around in his sweet time for another job. I would think that if his wife is unhappy with College Station, she would not be too pleased with Lincoln, Nebraska. But who knows. I just think we need to close a deal quickly or we might get left in the cold. If we are going to wait until the end of the season, then Gill comes back into play big time in my eyes.

Jeez. Tough crowd. Maybe I should go wake up our 5-year-old Pony fan and find out who she wants as the next coach. After she correctly predicted that she was getting a baby sister a couple of years ago before we had any idea, we swore we'd take her to Vegas. This might be a better use of her abilities.

That was in no way meant as an insult. Merely an admission to the existance of woman's intuition, and where it has gotten me.

Oh no. I am currently in the house with a wonderful woman. She tells me I love her more every day, and tells me how to prove it.

Let me tell you something. As far as I'm concerned, Saban is a scumbag, not because he left LSU for the NFL (on Christmas Day nonetheless), but b/c of the way he left LSU and his subsequent demonstrated lack of class. LSU followed Saban's lead giving him everything he wanted in terms of facilities, stadium, personnel, etc. and the entire state of Louisiana accepted him as one of its own. (You wouldn't understand, and it's not easy to explain to a non-Louisianian.) Then, after being made the highest paid college coach and repeatedly denying he would leave, Saban left LSU in a lurch to scramble to find a quality HC and staff after recruiting was effectively over. I suppose to make himself feel better, he claimed it was not about the money, but about his personal challenge. (I guess he forgot about this personal challenge when he left Miami 2 years later.)
At any rate, we all know what happens from there. All about the benjamins. The rock star goes to Bama and starts overtly bashing LSU's program, Les Miles and even the people of Louisiana all the while trying to steal LSU commits. Well, I was in Tuscaloosa at the game Saturday night, and I look forward to his visit next year.
I'm not faulting Franchione for leaving TCU or Alabama. You're right...a lot of coaches leave for greener pastures. I am faulting Franchione for the way he left Alabama and the lack of integrity and discretion he's shown in each of his stops. He is also a pompous A-hole that lacks credibility and true success. More sizzle than steak. Love the analogy. He may have had recruiting and program success when no one knew about his integrity, but you'd have a hard time convincing me to send my son to his program nowadays. Also, where is the demonstrated success at aTm in the last few years? Why do you think aTm fans wants him gone? You may like him and that's your opinion. I don't and that's mine.
Sorry for the rant, but you don't know d!ck about d!ck. Someone disagrees with you, and so like a child you try to defame them and mock them. I have respected your opinions, but you need to learn to respect others' opinions as well.

nice work getting tickets to that one. LSU season ticket holders made 33,000 requests for tickets to that game...
