Vandy just built a multipurpose 30 Million facility which includes a 120-yard-long indoor practice field, surrounded by a 6-lane, 300-meter indoor track. http://www.vucommodores.com/ot/multipur ... ility.html

Although it was not said directly when Hart was talking, I definitely got the impression our facility will be a drop dead top notch one.

There won't be a better facility of its kind in the nation.

Pro teams will definitely practice there instead of other places unlike that one time.

Watching that video, I kept thinking that building would be a great place to host a great party.

That's a bold statement and it's actually one that's impossible to quantify... if it's an all-in-one facility for football then there really are only 2 or 3 of those in the country right now that have everything the football team needs under one roof - meeting rooms, weight room, dining facility, training rooms, sports medicine, and indoor field in the same structure. If it's just an indoor practice facility then it really just comes down to making what is essentially a really big barn look good. The real question is whether SMU actually needs a true all-in-one football facility like that given the fact that most of the extra amenities are already included in the Lloyd Center.

Maybe we can send Rick Hart up to Oregon for some pointers on what a true football IPF/ operations building should look like.

The real question is actually: are they going to build anything or is the administration just floating pie-in-the-sky visions that are destined to be delayed indefinitely? Good bait to tell recruits (that includes chad morris).

Love Oregon, so don't get me wrong. And Eugene is a great college town. However, how many national championships has Oregon won (in FB) with SO MUCH money invested in it? That program has got to be one of the most heavily invested-in programs in the country and although I would kill to have the kind of success they've had over the last 20 years . . .

Investments were made and they are now in a position to win championships.
