Everyone is at Coaches Convention this week - this is where most of the hiring is taking place. If you look at where new HC's have been hired, they are in similar situation i.e. half the staff isn't hired. Just because we haven't heard, doesn't mean they aren't doing anything. Assume that the staff that is on board is reaching out and by the way, many HS coaches are at the Convention this week as well. Patience for the next few days before going into panic mode.

Dykes has been elephant hunting.

Well that was quick. See ya
That seems crazy that one would join only to bolt within a few weeks right?

What's crazy about it? Most likely more money at a power 5 school.

I don’t mean crazy that someone picks Stanford over SMU but why announce you are joining SMU then roll really quickly out of here. He must have known there was interest. I just equate it to accepting a job then come on day 1 and say I found something else. That’s all...

I agree that it is unprofessional, but college coaches are all unprofessional so it is acceptable to the profession.

Yeah I know. A sad reality. Fortunately in that industry, one wrong step or mistake and cut from the industry almost indefinitely. That’s why I don’t get why some coaches like Chad bolt. If he falls apart at Arkansas, in my opinion left here prematurely, his best fall back will be FIU or something. I rather take the cold dependable seat and iron out my play calling and recruiting rather than one that can get hot fast while learning. To each their own.

Everybody looks out for #1, the same as in any industry.

No panic - just a little concern. So by your comment we should expect a lot of hiring news tomorrow as the convention ends today. Not a lot of time before the dead period for recruiting ends. Hope we are on the recruiting trail very quickly with a staff of aggressive high-powered recruiters.
