this article suggests Mouton may figure in the rotation this year?

My guess is that now we're looking at a starting DLine of Adami, Jones, Williams and Rogers, with Muse and Mouton as the first guys off the bench.

I get the sense Bonds will stay on D, so he and Denman will be in the rotation, too. We have nice depth at DT, although with Adami graduating, we definitely need to sign at least one, preferably two.

Pony4life the fastest and quickest DT this summer was Karrington and as predicted by your self he is moving to DE. He was already on the DT rush package. There has been much juggling since last season and there still could be more. Most seems to have been correct so far. With Karrington who was #2 behind Adami who is the likely successor?..

Interesting stuff. I didn't realize Karrington had been moved out to DE, although with the glut of DTs and the relative lack of depth at DE, it makes sense. If he's quick enough to get around the corner, he could help there. The top 4 DTs seem to be Adami, Jones, Mouton and Bonds, with Denman in the mix and DeLay adding valuable depth. Who's actually #2 behind Adami is something I don't (yet) know.

Will Karrington back up both DE spots, or is he better-suited to one side or the other? Melvin Williams and Justin Rogers seem to be the starters, with now Karrington, Berry, Muse, Horton and Bey as backups. Maybe we have better depth there than I previously thought.

hpfan, that's surprising to hear about Karrington. Most of the players i've talked to say that Karrington put in the least amount of time and effort in the summer workouts. As for replacing Adami next year, that would be quite a drop off, wouldn't you say? It sounds like Karrington is improving, and that is a good thing.

Having watched practice, the fastest DT on the roster now is easily Dominic Pryor (maybe followed by Adami?) That's not to diminish Karrington's ability - he's got a hell of a motor - but Pryor is freaky fast for a DT. He's got some learning to do at the position, but when he does, he could be special.

I was under the impression Cory Muse was the fastest DE.

I believe the D-Line-- no, the entire defense, will be improved.

We have to get the "O" in the endzone.

You're exactly right. He's young, and still learning the position, learning how to rush from a three-point stance, etc., but if you've been out to practice .... wow. That kid can flat-out run. He will be a player, and soon. Looks like he's got a great frame, speed and a high motor.

Not that he was penciled in as a starter, but the loss of Cole Horton will hurt. I'd been told he was supposed to figure into the D quite a bit this year.
