I think a lot of SMU's hopes this season ride on Munlin to provide a running game to offset the passing game-so I hope he gets better fast-but what a great opportunity this is for young guys like DeMyron Martin, Jessie Henderson, Richuel Massey, and Cedric Dorsey to showcase their skills in fall scrimmage. Otherwise, it would have been hard for Bennett to get all 4 of those backups the work they need to evaluate all of them. It ought to be an exciting night to watch the running backs since that is definitely one position where we've got some nice talent to work with. Anybody have any info on how those young running backs are doing? Are any being looked at at other positions?
Massey will be fine. Remember, he's only a redshirt freshman. Granted, because of the instinctive nature of the position, running back is one spot where a guy can play early. But with an evolving line, it's understandable that he might need a little time to develop. He's a very talented guy, and he'll do fine. I also heard a rumor (unconfirmed) that DeMyron Martin could redshirt.
