the question regarding Army/Navy is whether they might eventually become "associate" members of CUSA. There was some talk of them being eligible for CUSA's bowl spots in exchange for playing as many as 4 games each against CUSA schools. I imagine the thinking at that time was that having Army/Navy in the mix would help with TV negotiations, but it didn't happen so who knows if it ever will. I do agree that Army/Navy are more capable of playing as independents than most and that they would not be as competitive as members of the Big East. I would think they'd be better off playing 4 CUSA teams along with Temple, a couple of Big East teams, some local I-AA games (Army could schedule VMI or Citadel) and a couple of high profile games (preserving Navy's game with Notre Dame is a must). And or course, they need Air Force in the mix
