In 1986, with a driving rainstorm, the Ponies beat the Bears 27 to 21! That Baylor team was ranked #13 in the Nation at the time, our last victory over a ranked opponent

Interesting that McIllhenny, the quintessential Mustang, is not listed on this year's Mustang Club roster but Mike Ford is. Not that there's anything wrong with not being in the Mustang Club. And I'm not saying that you have to be in the Mustang Club to be a true supporter. Just saying that's ironic.

He and his family are at almost every game - I think we can cut him some slack - my guess is he is a mustang clubber anyway.

Whaaaaaaa.... Dooby no play fair he take stupid things I say and throw back in my face. Wha Wha Wha

You bitched about milestones made against losing teams and I pointed out this was one.

You said that people that were not older than dirt were not allowed to have an opinion and I am pointing out that that is ridiculous.

If you would stop saying stupid things, I would stop pointing it out.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I believe the 1966 SWC Championship year also featured a major SMU last second comeback against Baylor. There were so many that year (four I believe) I don't remember.

isn't it great to watch Stallion put down certain guidelines for what is determined greatness then to see him break his own rules- he does this alot- but then lacks the intelligence to see where he went wrong

here's another guy that never saw SMU play Division 1A football. SMU's victory over Baylor in 1982 was about 10 times more important than any SMU victory since the DP. SMU hasn't even played a game of importance since the DP when anything other that bragging rights between mediocre teams was on the line. Heck the only Big Game SMU plays these days is when they get trounced in the Iron Skillet game and get to watch TCU fans call us Cross-Town Whipping Boys. Call back after you understand the meaning of "Big Game"

First, I did see SMU play in the 1980's & was closer to the action than you think

Second, don't get mad at me b/c you constantly contradict yourself and try and hold others to a certain standard that you yourself never hold up to

Third, I doubt you ever played any sport at any level beyond junior high, just a hunch, heck maybe the only time you ever stepped in b/w the lines was to march at halftime

I may beat myself up if I have to hear that at ford this year.

Hey Al-
Wasn't that the game where we ran a reverse on the opening kick-off to score a TD?

Well, that tired old argument is about as lame as your predictions of grandeur aka a five-win season for the ponies this season. Even if you played, your opinion is no better than anybody else's, sunshine. And as for your slam of band members, I think there's a fair amount of 'em on this board who are as knowledgeable as you, so I'd reconsider.

1978 Baylor Game

Postby Boston Pony » Fri Jun 03, 2005 4:33 pm

The great thing about the '78 Baylor game was both offense and defense came together - go Putt Choate, Mike Ford, & ET

There was a large group of SMU fans that drove down for the game. I remember a 'convoy' of cars (& not all 280Z's) going to Waco & leaving just after the game as there is nothing to do in Waco....sweet memories
