they are one of the few intelligent teams who know how to market besides the tea-sips
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Yeah, and I hope ND says Notre Dame in that COOL looking UNT 'North
Texas' script. What the h*ll did they do with that decal they used
to use in their Hayden Fry days.

I wondered why we didn't put a blue or red running Mustang on those
silver helmets from the Dave Smith era? I think he was under delusions
that we were the new Ohio State.

Now that is funny. Even Jerry's not that dumb.

Jerry Jones is not dumb, he's a great owner. From an unbiased observer, the new thing looks crappy. Y'all already sport a clean, classic-looking logo, why screw it up?

NFL teams do change logos. The Redskins have had several different looks before the Joe Gibbs model became the standard. (Burgundy helmet with the Redskin logo). I remember the Vince Lombardi model was a gold helmet with a big burgundy "R" on it with feathers (looked awful). He liked the Green Bay helmet style and recreated it for the Redskins.

I'll say this, any M.D. who refuses to prescibe an FDA-approved medication on personal belief grounds ought to have their license pulled. The medical community is outraged every time some parent refuses treatment for a sick kid based on religious beliefs--the road should go both ways.

I agree wholeheartedly

But still...where is this Ed piece? Is it even real, or are we being deceived?

Ugh, reading through some archived stuff just makes me angrier. Most of these Ed Board things are unresearched ramblings that try to make a point like "SMU should have better ____" but never really stating how or even showing that SMU doesn't want to be better.

Here's a good example: http://www.smudailycampus.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2004/03/05/4048020a74544?in_archive=1
"SMU needs to find a young and ambitious bball coach"..."We already had our chance to get Bobby Knight"...hmmm, we need a young coach like Bobby Knight, wtf? I also like the comments about "unlike Dement, we need someone who isn't afraid to recruit big time players". Gee, Dement must have been scared to talk to anyone good, had nothing to do with 1950's facilities, dismal fan support, etc. Totally uninformed, rambles on about how we need a coach that can make a conference change? And to become a bigtime program we need a tougher schedule? Yeah, that helped us in football the fall before this was written when an NCAA record was set AGAINSt us in the Ok State game. Just whining, that's all this is. How quickly they ignore that Dement brought several winning seasons to the Hilltop after the Shumate era and had respectable graduation rates.
From high on the hilltop, in Big D...

Let's call this thread "Find every problem with the Daily Campus" since there seems to be no editorial piece listed that this thread is supposed to refer to.

Sally, just out of your article...

"Copeland needs to focus his search toward an up-and-comer coach"
then they say...
"There is definitely another Knight out there."

Is it just me, or was Knight already established?

I don't know, the morning after pill and the new logo are essentially both abortions.

I hear that Rice University is thinking of changing its name and all of its logos to reduce the negative connotations of "Rice" as a result of the "low-carb" craze
