Mike Romo was one of the nicest guys at SMU when I was there. Despite being the BMOC he said hello to everyone. I have the greatest respect for what that bunch accomplished. I think even Mike would agree he doesn't rank with Dickerson and LeVias.

Does anyone remember playing Texas at Ownby when an SMU player punched the Longhorn in the 'Nads and brought him to his knees? He was pushing our player long after the whistle and our Pony took the life outta him.

The "hit" came from Kenny "Sugar" Rea. It was Stan Thomas that he hit in the groin. Thomas was a [deleted] that even the UT players did not like. A friend of mine was a walk on QB on that UT team that told me later even the UT players thought the punch was well deserved.

Tell me how to attach a newspaper article and I'll post David Casstevens' article about the game. My favorite quote from the article, "the sellout crowd at Ownby Stadium groaned like an old mattress" after witnessing the hit.

Now that is a great moment in Mustang football history.
