This seems to be the most ridiculous case of overreaction I've ever seen on this board (and there's been a lot of that on here). We were supposed to lose to Baylor, and we're supposed to lose to TCU and A&M. Season really starts after that.

you might be right in your message, but why are we supposed to lose to Baylor? We were at home, they hadnt won on the road in years and the oddsmakers called it a tossup. We needed that one bad. Lets not kid ourselves at least. Now we have to steal one we didnt hope for. TCU, Marshall, UAB would all qualify. We'll see, but I sure would be more hopeful if Phillips wasnt buried on the depth chart.

Get ready for 0-11. I look forward to reading your 'reaction' after this season.

we are supposed to be 1-11 too. That doesn't cut it in year 4.

What is "supposed to lose to ...?" Does that mean we were supposed to lose to Baylor because they were favored against us? I have news for you: SMU will likely be underdogs in 11 contests this year now that ECU has already won a game and will likely have another before facing us in week 6. Does that mean we are not supposed to win any games and that is OK?
Or does "supposed to lose to ..." mean we can't be disappointed in a loss? If so, this season is going to be great, just like all the others because we were supposed to lose a lot of games in those seasons too. I sure had fun in 2003; I wasn't disappointed at all.

They were bigger and deeper. And for the sake of argument, oddsmakers made them a slight road favorite, which means they consider the difference in talent legit. Considering the home team gets three points, that 1.5-point line in the baylor game means Vegas really considered them about 4.5 points better than us. 28-23: pretty good guess by the Vegas types.

Come look for me, boy. Section 205, Row 15, Seat 1 at Ford.
I'll be in Ford watching and supporting the Mustangs while you - an SMU alumni - sit outside on The Blvd. The team may or may not win but I'll still be there.
And...once again, you still can't get it right: it's Div. 1-AA, not D-2. Learn it, boy. 'Cause SMU is headed for the Southland Conference, too. And then I'll have TWO Div. 1-AA teams to root for.

Look, bobcat, I'll be checking out the hot chicks that you're so intimidated by on the 'vard, while you waste your time watching a bad football team that you've publicly stated you don't even like anymore get it @ss handed to it. You should really give that license plate up to a true fan, D2 man. And for the record, my ticket will make the official count Saturday.

As I mentioned, then SMU is not supposed to win a game all year, because we are going to be given points by the oddsmakers in every contest.

take it easy ladies. JT, you tryin to personally run off one of our few remaining loyal fans? Who cares where he got his diploma. MM, cut out the D1AA talk, you know as well as anybody that no true Mustang fan wants that.

True enough, I don't need to do that. The program itself will take care of that.
And I really don't have any axe to grind with the D-2 guy except his bashing the one good thing left about fall Saturdays on the Hilltop, the girls on The Boulevard. I mean we all know there is no hope for the Mustangs, so that is the only thing that may keep the attendance from dropping off 100%.

La Griglia is another fine choice. Pizza is good at Colina's. after that, everything else in Houston has "pappa" in front of it.
If you haven't tried Cafe Red Onion you really need to.
Honduran food with Caribbean flair (Latin Fusion). The Red Onion Seafood y Mas is a little different and a little more upscale (not really for kids) than the just Cafe Red Onions.
All are absolutely great.
