This game falls under the category of "those things are going to happen". I gett as upset as anyone when I think coaches make bad calls and bad decisions. But this game isn't on them. The only big mistake that they made was to give Romo a little more liscense to throw the ball after last week, but then again, after last week, who wouldn't have...

I have to disagree...fumbles = mental errors = a lack of discipline = poor coaching; Romo's telegraphing his passes are partly attributable to poor coaching; calling plays that put you in a position to throw your 4th interception are attributable to coaching.

This one's not ALL on the coaches, but good coaching can eliminate these types of errors. Good coaching prevents 4 interceptions.

Yeah right :!:

I'm pretty sure 3 of those interceptions came during panic time in the last
4 minutes of the game when we were going for the tie to put it in OT. A
QB's that's started about 6 ncaa div 1a games is gonna do that (PANIC)
sometimes. Especially, after he was part of the HERO Tandem the
week before.

Quit being a spoiled brat :!:

the crucial pick came with the game tied at 17. I think one them came during desperation, anybody remember exactly.

Oh, I'll bet on it. You'll be back. This SMU fandom is a bad disease. It will draw you back in just to knock you in the gut one more time.

Go Ponies.

I disagree. I re-watched the first half last night. Early in the game, on the first drive, Romo had a pass where he drills it in-between two players and completes a pass. I think that got him pumped up, and he tried to force passes in difficult situations for the rest of the half. The INT he threw that had the big return, there was a little rush, but not much, he still had a pocket, had time to throw. He had three receivers right and one left. He never looked at the receivers to his right a single second. He looked left, noticed a rusher around the end, stepped up in the pocket, held the ball looking at his WR left, then once the pocket started to break down, he just tried to force the ball in there instead of taking a sack or anytihng. That was a bad decision by him, he had plenty of time to look right, but he didn't. And he didn't do the smart thing by throwing it away or taking a sack. He just tried to gun it in and got bit.

Martin's fumble. He had a huge hole. He was busting through, but he was carrying the ball like a loaf of bread. Which is what a lot of young runners do. Which is what Jamal Charles down at UT tends to do as well. That was a mistake on his part by not tucking the ball in.

I was also a big critic of playcalling before re-watching the first half. I wanted to see us run the ball more. But, after watching the first half again, the offense was able to move the ball at will. Our PLAYERS made mistakes that cost us drives. Whether it was turnovers or, on the first drive, Romo had forever to throw a pass, moved outside past the tackles, so he could have thrown the ball away, but he took the sack instead, that killed that first drive.
