Who enjoys watching a team lose all of the time? What are these "other things" related to sports besides wins and losses? Certainly SMU has the "losses" part down!

That's true. The Ponies are my team, and always will be my team. I want them to win every game, but even if they don't, they're still my team. I drive in from Tyler for every home game, and I made it to College Station and Tulsa, too. If it makes you that miserable, just move on. Go be a Cowboys fan or something. But what will you do when they lose, too? (Right .... not show up.) Whether it's because you went to school there, or because your father passed on his passion for a team, or for some other reason, there's no excuse for abandoning a team in which you have an emotional investment.

In the last 25 years, the WhiteSox reached the playoffs in 1983, 1993, 2000, 2005. The White Sox have finished better than .500 eleven times since 1990 and every year since 2000.
In the last 25 years, the Cubs reached the playoffs in 1984, 1989, 1998 and 2003. The Cubs have finished better than .500 five times since 1990. Besides, for the most part, most Cubs fans don't give a darn about the game because they are more concerned with taking off worka dn getting drunk. Have you been to a Cubs game? That was my impression when I went there.
Baseball, btw, is the hardest sport to reach the postseason. In most sports, including college football in this day and age, you barely need to be .500 or better.
Want to compare that to SMU post-DP?

I'm not sure who has it worse at games - those of us who have only known SMU post death penalty and have never seen a good team, but are used to it.... Or you older guys who can at least remember the good ol' days, but can thus see how far the program has fallen.

Large crowds make noise and impress recruits. Yes, small crowds hurt this program. So get off your butts, turn off the BCS cr@p games and go to Ford every time the Mustangs are playing.

That's the spirit, DiamondJim!! Who needs a winner when at least you have a TEAM! Now let's turn out for the big game!

As a show of good will we should offer to give them that mascot costume that looks like the Tick.

Thanks PK for the support. While SMU is losing in front of the band and players' parents, I will be watching USC, Texas, and OU play. Lienart or V. Young...who is better? I will watch them the rest of the season and let you know. PK...will you let me know about the progress the young players at SMU are making the rest of the season. Bennett has used this as an excuse to losing since he became coach. By now, the young players should be vastly improved. I am especially anxious to know about the improvement of Romo since he won't be here next year. I also want to know about the defenses Bennett calls in certain game situations....after all, who doesn't. Oh yeah, while you are watching the team lose, I also will have an unlimited supply of beer in my fridge. I may even watch a movie too. Thanks for caring, Billy Joe.

BRILLIANT! This simple, but SAUCY, slogan captures the PRECISE attitude you people need to have here on the Hilltop. Say, you don't design LOGOS, do you?

This is going to cause a lot of problems and confusion when Copeland adds the Mustangs to the Mustangs' 2007 Football Schedule.

Ouch!!! That doesn't exactly reflect well on the soccer teams, though.
