Didn't they change it a few years back because "they" no longer made Yale blue? Of course our red doesn't really look too much like the maroonsih crimson of harvard either.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

I too would like to see a game with SMU in throwback unis from the 60s. Blue jerseys, gray pants, red helmets with white mustang.

I echo that! That was a mean clean, business like uniform.

I would love to see the Pony Express Blue Jersey and White pants with the white helmet. I love the Red helmet and White Mustang but the Pony Express helmet is classic. I also want to see the mesh half shirts that were in use during that time. Maybe we can bust these out for the Rice game. Similar to the ND Green jerseys.
While I am dreaming can Martin change his number to 19?

Not sure if we should pay tribute to the era when SMU had a professional team on the field. However, those uniforms were certainly better than any that we have had in the last 10 years!

I still maintain that it is not shameful to honor a period where we payed players.....and so did everyone else. Getting caught doesn't change anything.

Yup, best uniforms I've seen on anybody. Hate the Texas Tech uniforms we have now. Helmets look more black than blue.
Always heard SMU's colors were cardinal red, and royal blue. Our early 80s uniforms with the white helmet, and royal blue jersey are a lot better than what we have now.

Actually, we're supposed to be Harvard Red and Navy Navy.

How can you look at the state of SMU football over the last 16 years and conclude that?

you can't wear the mesh uniforms anymore because they were tearaway jerseys which have been outlawed.

There was a big stink on this board a couple of years ago about how the end zone was a different shade of blue than our jerseys.
It might seem a nit to some, but I the colors don’t match and I still suspect someone dropped the ball on that one.

Funny thing about endzones....back in the Texas Stadium days, when they rolled out the MUSTANGS endzones, it was closer to navy than royal...kind of the reverse of now.

Just a guess..but it was probably the darkest color of blue that the turf manufacture made. With our budget minded folks, I'm sure we weren't going to pay to have a custom color turf created just for our endzones.
