Right, it has nothing to do with the fact that Hansen's a journalist and David Stanley handed him the biggest story of the decade in college sports on a silver platter. Denial ain't a river in Egypt...

That's absurd. They never wanted the little 4.

Hatchell screwed us. The 'alliance' was just to smoke screen us. The big4 left because the texas legislature thought it was the best way to save as much as possible...and baylor got in because of anne

Hansen says he has never been to an SMU weekly media luncheon.
(He said so in an email to me.)

That's what I don't like.

"Mr. Big Guy" can't cover the hometown Div IA team unless there's scandal.

It is my sincere desire that when SMU finally wins another conference title, is ranked again, and goes to a decent bowl, they lock out Hansen and WFAA and the Dallas Morning News. Let 'em get the story from AP or USA Today.

Not because of their death penalty reporting. That's cool. But, because of their indifference to SMU's battle to come back. :P

If it makes you feel any better, Hansen doesn't show up at any of Bill Parcells' daily press conferences, either.

He's been to plenty of Cowboy press conferences over the years.

You wouldn't want him there, either. Hansen's job is to tell his people where to go every day and what to put on the air. He still sends a crew to every SMU game, can't say the same for UNT. His other job is to talk for five to eight minutes twice a day and show highlights. He is rarely on location. He never goes to anybody's press conferences unless he wants to annoy somebody. i.e. he showed up to one of Parcells' to ask about two point conversions.

I will never understand this. What do you want the media to do? As soon as the cover SMU more, you will be complaining about the negative coverage by the media.

Hansen sends a crew to every game? That's BS. Maybe most home games.

actually I bet these days they get feeds from CSTV or other TV sources-don't they unless they are doing a remote for the 6 o'clock or 10 o'clock news.
