WHERE? I've been searching for hockey games, and when I've called comcast, they sound like I'm asking for the secret of life.abezontar wrote:Comcast already has OLN on the basic lineup ....
Comcast: "OLN? We're a cable company, sir."
Me: "Right -- look at your list. OLN is a cable network."
Comcast: "What are you looking for?"
Me: "Hockey games. They're on OLN."
Comcast: "Ice hockey?"
Me: "(Deep breath) .... yes, ice hockey."
Comcast: "Have you checked out ESPN? They have a lot of sports on ESPN."
Me: "Yes, I'm familiar with ESPN. I'm also familiar with the fact that when the NHL -- that's the professional hockey league in North America -- was locked out, ESPN bailed out of its TV contract with the league. Games are now shown on OLN."
Comcast: "What's OLN?"
Me: "It's a network. Remember Lance Armstrong?"
Comcast: "Who?" (Seriously -- she said that.)
Me: "Lance Armstrong. He's won the Tour de France every year since you were born. That's a bicycle race. He's made the news a few times. That race is the only reason a lot of folks have ever heard of OLN."
Comcast: "Oh, Lance Armstrong? The bike rider?"
Me: "Yes, that's him."
Comcast: "The guy in the yellow shirt?"
Me: "OK, let's go at this differently. You might not have heard, but he retired. Now there's talk he might not retire after all. If I want to watch him in next year's Tour de France, what channel would I flip to in order to see it?"
Comcast: "That's on OLN, sir."
Me: "Thanks -- you've been a huge help."
So .... (since the comcast website is fairly useless, too) does anyone with a brain know what channel OLN is on basic cable?
