Boy, if I am an AD, I really have to think twice about picking an existing coach that hasn't had success. No track record is better than a poor track record in my book. If Bennett were to go 3-8, every booster and fan would be screaming.
"A name not mentioned but also in the Dallas area, Phil Bennett! Yes, SMU still stinks but he has slowly built that program to where it is winning a few games more each year. They're playing competitively with little to no talent.
Why not speculate? " This was posted on the Kansas State Football Fan Forum.
few more wins each year?
if I'm not mistaken we have been 3-8 or 9 0-12 3-8 and this year we are 3-6 most likely to be 3-8? that guy's brain must have been addled by a few twisters The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney? Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
KSU to go with OUSince KU has progressed by hiring an OU asst coach, maybe KSU will do the same thing. Patterson would be a good hire. No way SMU or UNT coaches get the job.

Re: KSU to go with OUPatterson would be a bad hire -- he's been tainted by living in frogtown. Brent Venables (who, if I'm not mistaken, played at K-State), would be a terrific hire. He's thought to be a very bright, energetic young coach who kicks tail on the recruiting trail.
I have a question about Patterson. Patterson has surprised me over the years. That being said, he really bugs me and I finally realized why. It is that damn tiny Garth Brooks/boy band-esque headset he wears on the sideline. Every other coach wears a full headset. Whether it is to block out noise or only to have something bulky to throw on the ground, the all have them. That tiny little headset can't be as good or reliable as those used by just about every other school. About the only conclusion I can reach is that it is vanity and he wants a small headset so people can see him better. That bugs me.
I think that everyone agrees Brent Venables is one of the gigantic favorites for the K-State job. I mean PB might know Snyder, but Bob Stoops and Snyder have just as much history. I believe the gentleman who stated that Brent Venables is a K-State graduate was correct. I'm not saying this because I am an OU fan, but I honestly think Brent Venables with get the job. Now here is something funny to think about. What if PB were to get fired (and I know it probably won't happen this decade) and he ended up getting some sort of defensive coaching job at OU in Venables absence? I think this is more likely than PB actually getting a head coaching job at K-State.
