nah, his point was we showed some dominance over the other Texas 1-A schools who we recruit against directly. Kind of like saying we went 3-2 against old SWC rivals. Bennett has to use any and every angle he can to recruit with.

who is mocking SMU? The FACT is that we beat EVERY non-BCS school in Texas that we played. That's an accomplishment to be proud of. Just playing the hand we've been dealt.

Geez-o Cheasesteak. I invented the State Championship 3 years ago because everybody assumed the season was over and that we would lose the last 2 games. The point was we could not afford to win just 3 games this year and expect the program to move forward. I wasn't mocking anyone except for the William P. Clements Texas State 1A-II State Championship Trophy because he played such an immortal role in the creation of Division 1 and Division II divide. Go pick up any Texas paper this weekend and they will have stories on a Big School(Division I) and Small School(Division II) championship within each CLASS-so there are 5 classes and 10 Championships) Why can't we acknowledge our accomplishment against other similar schools in Texas. The point is-as HoopFan noticed-is that we recruit head-to-head with the other Texas schools TCU, Rice, UH and UTEP and victories over those non-BCS schools would give Phil Bennett some amunition to say we are turning this thing around-and have improved 5 games in two years. Phil was talking to recruits tonite when he said he thinks we are presently the best team in CUSA. If SMU gets first pick over the other non-BCS schools we will gradually elevate the program to the Top of CUSA.
