Local TV Coverage of SMU v UTEP

Derek Castillo (KXAS, Ch. 5) shows the SMU highlights following stories about the Mavericks and the Stars. SMU goes ahead of story about OU and OSU game. (And this is the FT. WORTH STATION!)

Joe Trahan (WFAA, Ch. shows Mavs and then a 'reader' about Texas, then Kansas and Iowa State then OU v OSU then North Texas (reader) and then SMU v UTEP! WTF?????? Figures...Belo Corp. crap!!!!!!

Before you get too mad at Belo why don't you see who gave us the most time. I believe 8 gave us the best coverage of all the stations.

Actually, the best coverage was from Ch. 39 (WB). A 'packaged' story with an interview with head coach Phil Bennett after the game and D.D. Lee. If you think Ch. 8 gave us the best coverage, you need to expand your viewing of local television sports, my friend. Ch. 8's coverage sucked in comparison to Ch. 39 and Ch. 5.

Ch. 11 and Ch. 4 (both Dallas stations) weren't much better than Ch. 8.

Maybe one of the best things to do, in addition to sending e-mails, is to stop watching Channel 8 news. Period. A fall in the ratings may hurt them more than any number of e-mails.

I agree with you, DG. Channel 8 news & sports is now 'off-limits' at my house until things change. Screw 'em!
