wow, two big moves in one night. i'm hoping to get to all american by next season so that i have some sort of credability around here with the rookies.

not that it really means that much - they'll figure out soon enought that i'm full of it.

What a great New Year this is !!!

2006.. The year Copeland leaves SMU!!! Finally the albatros flies from SMU's neck.
What we obtain too cheap.. we esteem too lightly. It is persistence alone that gives everything its value.

mine's sitting on the couch and think's i'm 'working'. Alt./Tab is a great feature. only b/c i catch hell for actually going to a SMU message board. She's from Nebraska and can't understand why i would care about SMU. to them, 5-6 last season was the worst in almost 40 years - and here we are going nuts like we just won the rose bowl.

Sorry, but UT fans have nothing on NU fans. i'm sure it's bad right now, but it will cool down for you next year when UT is starting one of three QB's who have NEVER taken a college snap, two of which haven't even signed a letter of intent yet. have fun w/ Tech, Ohio St, OU, et al.

Huskers have excelled since the 60's. UT's been up and down about every 7-10 years. it hasn't been that long since Macovick (SIC)

oh, and she is just a NU fan from Omaha, she's also a TCU alum.

Nobody has left any job, and nowhere does it say he WILL retire -- just that he's thinking about it.
And IF he does decide to retire, I think we'll see that WorldStang's "albatross" comparison is not quite accurate. Whoever the new AD is will inherit the same system/model/call-it-what-you-will that has us competing on an uneven playing field. Maybe the next AD -- whether it's this year or next year or after next year -- can change the system, maybe he/she can't.
I'm not saying this is a good possibility or a bad development. I'm biased by the fact that I like Copeland personally, and to decree a change as a success or failure without knowing who the next AD is would be extraordinarily premature. (Regardless of what you think of Copeland, good or bad, a replacement must be better. Put any of us in that seat and folks will be calling for Copeland to be brought back....)
