I agree. Anyone who has had long-term employment or close assocation with the athletic department since Copeland is tainted with the poison of suck. We need to eliminate most of the department and start fresh, with new ideas and motivation. We need a PROVEN AD.

This couldn't be further from the truth, we need someone who has been at another sucessful program, someone who knows what is required to build a succesful program. In my opinion, anyone who has been at SMU will not be very experienced in with this.

You missed the main point of my comment...I said we needed some one for whom the job is more than just a paycheck, but a passion for SMU. What's bad about that? I also said that person needed to be able to do what AD's do. Is there anyone that fits that description?...maybe not, but it certainly would help if there was, IMHO. A "have gun will travel" guy is just that, first time someone comes along offering more money...he is gone. We need someone who is committed because he cares about what happens to SMU.

Only "proven" A.D. that will come here is from D2 or D3 or real crap D1 school. You are not going to get an AD from a BCS school unless you pay him two times market value. That being said, I know Andy Geiger is available (just kidding ).
