Then claiming that they are giving $3.5 million to cover athletics. Of course, if we were not hobbled by cash drain sports like rowing, golf, tennis, equestrian(does the horse get a scholarship), volleyball, and girl's basketball the money might not be an issue at all.
Contrary to popular belief, the $3.5M deficitl does not include tuition.

Josh McCown's school ring says "Sam Houston State". And his trading cards list "Sam Houston State", too.

In addition, Keylon Kinkeade just signed on with the Cowboys again and is on their roster.

It just beats a long-dead horse. What many of us disagree with Stallion about is what the solution to that problem is, and whether we're going to be part of that solution, or just compound the problem by repeating it over and over again.
Okay, this drives me nuts. Stallion's proposed solution, as I understand it (and he'll undoubtedly correct me if I'm wrong), implicates changes to cirriculum to make us more attractive to incoming freshman athletes who do not want to major in what we currently offer, as well as to facilitate an easier transfer process for JUCO players and other transfers, i.e., majors to which their transfer hours will apply. It sounds fairly reasonable to me, but it'll cost money and I'm not sure on what timetable all that is feasible, given that it has taken eons to get where we are now from where we were in 1989.
However, since you have indicated your disagreement with what Stallion thinks is the solution to the problems at SMU, please tell us your solution is to making us not "really really bad" anymore.

So jt, if that is indeed Stallion's solution, how does his constant blathering about it on PF.com make it happen? What you suggest is his solution is not an original thought on his part...it is what we would call obvious. The real problem that needs a solution is how are those changes accomplished? I doubt seriously that there is anyone who frequents these boards who is capable of making that happen. So, do we instigate a letter writing campaign?...stage a sit-in at the President's office?...moon the faculty senate?...give our money to the athletic department instead of the general fund or the 100 year building fund/endowment? What?

Well you miss the point, PK. If that is what Stallion thinks should happen and that other poster disagrees with Stallions "solution" however obvious it is, then I want to know what the other solution is. And just to point out more of the obvious, this board is in part for sounding off by frustrated fans who realize that there is NOTHING we can to solve the problems. That is simply out of our hands, unless ... 2112 is really a lurking Lamar Hunt in which case I'd suggest to him he get off his rich, lazy [deleted] and get some changes made. That is what Stallion does, and he knows it, as I've told him so many times (unbeknowst to ... 2112) back on MM.com when I suggested he post to boardoftrustees.com with his message, but he's right and you're right too, we cannot do a damn thing about it.

This kind of antagonistic posting hurts recruiting way more than Stallion and That'sGreatRaphl (Sic?) posting pictures of hot girls.
I just don't know why you criticize other people for questioning athletic department policies. Does it offend you that they are not defending the administration policy at the moment? Mickey Spagnola?
Willis to slot receiver!
