several of our most loyal 1500 will probably make the trip to Denton

seriously, though: if SMU wants to jump start this program, there needs to be a lot of student involvement to generate more enthusiasm. The greeks better start planning a bus caravan

5,000. Yeah! I think all posters should put in parenthesis the number of years that have followed SMU athletics behind their handle because we seem to have been invaded by a great number of posters lately that seem to know very little about SMU.

Exactly....we have had home games where attendance has not even been 5,000!

Sure, Stallion. Here ya' go:

Mr. Pony (40+ years).

What I KNOW is there are a great many negative, down in the dumps, woe-is-me, whining losers on this board.

Fouts should be OVERRUN with Red and Blue when the Ponies play there. It's just a matter of enough of us getting off our dead a**es and showing up with everybody we can bring along.

Nothing great was ever accomplished without ENTHUSIASM. Dead wood on this board should drift on out to sea and rot.

GO MUSTANGS!! We'll shock the world this fall at 9-2. I'll be at every d*mn game too.

I didn't ask how old you were-I asked how many years you have followed the athletic program.

That IS how long I've followed the athletic program.

Now, by 'followed the athletic program', if you meant studied the balance sheet every quarter, huddled with the trustees, brainstormed with faculty wonks, received periodic personal briefings from head coaches going to back to Hayden Fry .... well, no, I've never followed the athletic program at SMU.

Geee ......we just hate seeing new blood around here. Whats up with that Stallion, you old grump? If they think 5,000 will head up there, then let them be optimistic. It wouldn't kill you to be half full every tenth day or so.

You need a date or something.

My personal guess is 1500 if we get squashed by Tech and 2500 if we stay close.

I've been to every home game since football returned in 1989, and we've never had a crowd that small. We've had some lean years, to be sure, but that's ridiculous. I realize pot-stirring is fun, when you're bored, but come on...
