Actually it's still there... They play one game a year there. Homecoming.

Actually you are wrong. It was torn down after the Super Dome was built. Look at Google Earth at the Tulane Campus. And there is a description that tells exactly where Tulane Stadium used to stand.

Are they going to drop the crown on the field? Its probably a good 5 or 6 inches worse than Texas Stadium.

Stallion, I assume you are talking about Ford Stadium. I haven't heard anything about dropping the crown there. Wouldn't that entail pulling up the turf and re-grading the dirt underneath? And are we actually going to do that?

Ford stadium does not have a crowned playing surface. Drainage is handled by an under ground drainage grid covered by sand. The water goes through the turf and sand into the drainage system.

apparently Graham reports that Rice signed a contract to replace all wooden bleachers in Rice Stadium with alumnium bleachers. I've been pretty critical of SMU being associated with Rice over the years partly because they wouldn't do the simplest things to improve their facilities, but with new scoreboard, Field Turf and aluminum bleachers perhaps things are changing down there. I'm pretty interested to see how the place looks after the improvements especially if they remove the endzone seating. The Stadium actually has nice modern lines (considering it was built in the 1950s and has plenty of quality seats inside the 20s. Good step in the right direction for CUSA. Now on to Autry Court.

It is a good place to watch a football game from.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just like I prefer the look of the older, unique baseball parks as opposed to the symetrical parks built in the 70s? (3 Rivers, Philly, Cincinatti, etc.), I prefer an older, unique stadium like ACS. Granted it has its warts but it has character and history on its side. JMHO.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
