I'll be there too with my lovely wife, LHP. We're going out to dinner and a movie first and will show up at halftime. Gotta watch that nephew of mine on the LH offensive line!

The 96th meeting of Longview-Marshall should be a good one. It's been one-sided recently in favor of Longview and Marshall is now 4-A, but the rivalry is historic and many of us Longview grads still consider the Marshall game to be one of the most important games of the year.

Only things missing today is lunch @ Bel's Diner or Carlito's, and an afternoon razzing Rex Nichols about "Book 'em Horns!!!"

Be nice about them Horns. They have always held a special place in my heart: my maid went there. :D

E. C. Glass Hiltoppers vs. hated cross-town rival Heritage Pioneers. (Lynchburg, Va.) I obviously cannot attend, but will receive frequent updates via cellphone.

South Lake Carroll was pretty much a machine tonight. Lake Highlands looked pretty much like a rag tag assortment of players compared to SLC. This is not going to be a very good year for Lake Highlands I fear. Lake Highlands, bless their hearts, reminded me of past SMU teams tonight. Given a chance, they shot themselves in the foot every time. On top of that, SLC's OL out weighed LH's DL considerably and SLC's DL out weighed LH's OL. It wasn't pretty. SLC is a very disciplined team and I will be surprised if they don't compete for a state championship again. Their starting running back (who is only a junior) could have run every play and I don't think LH could have stopped him. Their OL had a lot to do with that because once he got through the huge holes the OL openned up, HL had a hard time bringing him down. I've got a nephew who plays for LH and therefore, I hope they can get it together soon.

Longview picked up the big 50th victory tonight, 38-35.

With around 4:30 left in the game it was 38-21 and then Marshall just turned it on and started the come back but couldn't get the 2nd onside kick.

You and AK going to SMU vs. NTSU?

I am calling him today to see what your ETA is. The Mrs. gave me my hall pass after our son plays tomorrow early afternoon. I want to go to the game if times work out! I will buzz AK and get the skinny.

Thx.

Yep we'll be there. I think we're leaving around 1:30?

Atleast thats what I think I heard ha. O and on our doing of Maverick Stadium..well lets just say we had people literally out at Lobo Stadium the entire night making sure Marshall people didn't come over and do something. Only pay back from the dead wolf the Marshall students left on our tennis courts from 2002.
