i think transferring to 1aa school means the transfer doesnt have to sit out a year doesn't it? that is why some good players end up 1aa and not at smu or some div 1 schools.

That's the only viable reason. There's simply no other reason to choose SHSU over SMU's education, Div. I-A status, the city of Dallas, the scenery, etc. Sam Houston has been a nice landing spot for some good players. Here's wishing them well -- starting Sunday morning.

Sam Houston is the fastest growing state university in Texas. New dorms, new educational facilities, new athletic facilities, etc. have been built in the past 10 years to handle the surge.

No, it's not Dallas. However, the scenery in the area around Huntsville is much better than around Dallas. Forests of pine trees, lakes, rolling hills, quiet, etc. If you're a sportsman and enjoy hunting, fishing and the outdoors, it's one of the better places to attend school in the state.

That said, I love both schools. Each has positive qualities.
