Didn't Cave-in try to start this tradition when Ford first opened and it was great for the Kansas game, but as the season progressed with a not too favorable w-l record, the crowd started dwindling, that he stopped it?

appreciate the support for the players and can guarantee you while they may be stoned faced they see each and everyone of you and appreciate it. sometimes we forget they still are young men with feelings.

Plus, they've got a job to do -- I'd be more worried if they were laughing and high-fiving fans. I want them stoic and concentrating.... and BEATING THE HELL OUT OF SAM HOUSTON STATE!
I'm getting to Dallas Friday night, and I'll be on the Boulevard in time to cheer for them during their walk, and from the opening kickoff until the final whistle.
GO SMU!
Once a Mustang, ALWAYS a Mustang!

When I went to see the Ponies at UNC several years ago, their team walked through campus and the various tailgating activities.

Stangdad, I am one of the "25 regulars" and will do it again! Be sure and come by the Special Delivery tent, spot #37 in front of the Meadows building.

I would love to see this. I thought it was great last year when the Tulane Guys walked through before the Baylor game. I would love to see the Mustangs up close and personal before every home game. Maybe one of marketing whizzes in the athletic office can make this happen.

After Orsini's house cleaning of the past few weeks, it sounds like there aren't any "whizzes" left over there.

I don't think there were any marketing people at all before the house cleaning.

Glad you brought that up. I was out on the Boulevard when the Tulane guys walked through, and the way SMU fans stood up and applauded for those guys, extended a handshake and well-wishes, offered a bite of tailgate food -- that gave me chills. I was as proud to be a part of SMU that day as I ever have.

Plenty of teams let fans line up and cheer for the players as the walk to the locker room, it's fairly common

Keep talking it up, and when you're walking down there, GRAB SOME STUDENTS and bring them.
I'll be there Saturday!

StangDad and Fellow Mustangs:
this is from Rogers Healy and I:
Fellow Mustangs-
Let's get motivated.
I really feel like we have an opportunity to be a part of something special with SMU and we are being lazy.
For those of you who were at the tailgate last weekend, I hope you agree with me, when I say the young alumni participation was sh*tty.
I want to blow it up this weekend. Let's get a battleplan for the tailgate and let's get everyone out there with us. I think the game this weekend starts at 6, so let's plan on getting there around 3.
No more excuses.
When do you all want to meet up this Saturday? If you don't have tickets, we can find them for you.
SMU needs us now. I get excited when I think about the future of OUR school and I hope you are all in same boat as me.
Let's get fired up. Please pass this along to everyone you can.
Go Mustangs.
Rogers
My idea to go w/ Rogers:
Rogers, I propose this for you, Guy and I.. lets hi-jack one of the
mkting departments golf carts (w/ or w/out permission) and cruise
around the boulevard about 15 mins before the team comes out of
perkins chapel and herd the fans to the chapel.. Now i am not
expecting a tiger walk like at Auburn, but lets do the best w/ what we
have and then have something build from this.. I think if we get this
started now, it could be something really cool for the ESPN 2 game on
Halloween against UAB when all the fans hopefully will be dressed up
(i know i will).
