Do we have DBs in the pipeline?

Our DB's clearly were the problem last week. We appeared to be in a soft zone coverage and were picked apart with ease.

Another solution is put more pressure on the QB with different blitz packages. I would think our Lb's are fast enough to disrupt things in the backfield.

blitz doesn't work because we cover too soft on the outside. Also, our LBS who don't blitz aren't good in pass coverage, and we don't play nickel, so too many holes. There are too many quick reads in our zone for the zone blitzing that we do to work.

Over at WVU, Rich Rodriguez runs a 3-3-5 Defense. Sure some of you might say "WVU does not play anyone that good" but WVU did a tremendous job in the Sugar bowl against GA. The final outcome might say different but WVU was in control of that game the whole way.

The 3-3-5 is a great Defensive formation that is rarely ever used in Football.

I would like to see Gush and PB change up the D because I am sure UAB, Houston, and Rice are all salivating over our pass D and cannot wait to air it out against us.

As long as PB doesn't keep preparing to defend the run, we're ok. Well, at least, we might have a chance of improving our pass defense.

The 3-3-5 is becoming the defense of choice against the spread. It is everywhere in HS. The 4-3 and 5-3 are just not effective against that offense. Would not expect PB to go that way but you can never tell what the future brings.

I think moving Lindley to safety would be the best choice...but he has the most experience at CB of all of them.

The kid doesn't like tackling and you want him to be a safety? Safeties are smaller (and speedier hopefully) linebackers.. they have to be aggressive and SURE tacklers (like Sturdivant).. so far, I haven't been too impressed with Lindley.. even those 3 picks weren't incredibly difficult to grab considering he does have good hands.. 2 were thrown right to him. He had a good day.. I'll take consistency over that, please.

PB does his best when looking for recruits. Not many know about SMU and being a small school, most young kids these days dont know much about football here.

All they know is the past...The DP...it is hard to get exposure and our recruiting pipeline is in state.

PB and staff do their best to attract outside players.

A win on national television come OCT 31 will help with recruiting. It is all about exposure when it comes to attract a recruit.
