[quote="J.T.supporta"]What is so wrong with UNC? Mack Brown was able to come out of UNC as a better coach and was able to win at UNC. Look where Mack is now.[/quote

Yeah... losing to Tech 0-21.

Apparently, UT set their clocks back a day too soon.

20 Straight Big 12 Games in a Row
17 Straight Road Games in a Row

Pretty good for a guy who couldn't coach his way out a paper sack. Guess Recruiting MUST matter.

For a guy that was at OU under Barry then went to Tulane, left to help jump start UNC and now is a national championship coach and just led his team to a comeback against TT, Mack has done a terrific job since leaving NC.

Very true but Fran came to a very good team when he arrived at College Station. Don't forget that Fran was on the hot seat at the beginning of this year because he was not winning the big games/games A&M were suppose to win. He finally beat a good Mizzou team but lost to TT in the last few seconds. Frans job is safe but barely. His seat is still hot and lets not forget that he left a team that was going to be punished with NCAA sanctions. Fran was not willing to wait it out at Bama and build a dynasty.

Mack Brown is the best coach in the world. UT is the best program the universe has ever seen. They have the best recruits, facilities, and everything about them is just wonderful. Burnt orange is the best color ever. How 'bout them horns! yea, and rah rah!

I agree they are 32-2 in the last three years with losses to No. 1 Ohio St. and No. 2 Oklahoma. Just think if they had a real coach.

How many years will it take Bennett to even win 32 games here at SMU? What about winning more games in a season than you can count on one hand?

The insertion of your tongue in your cheek is duly noted, counselor, but if McBrownie could coach, they probably SHOULD have more than one national title, considering the NFL combine he runs in Austin every year.

the Tulsa model

Postby Sam I Am » Mon Oct 30, 2006 12:06 am

Whenever we speculate about what SMU needs, then we should imitate Tulsa. The hurricanes were losing chronically as aprivatre school in a location not as godo as Dallas. A good coach IS always the answer. Tulsa did it. We could have too.
