More what I was looking for was how territorial things get and how much space we can take

ie small tent table etc.

So is my idea ok? Jump out on the blvd set up tent and tables in the grass area?

Set up in the middle of the Boulevard and there should be no problem. As I mentioned earlier, the space from the curb to about 20 feet out is generally considered to be reserved for the people who have those parking spots. I don't think you have to worry about it being too territorial, but be willing to be flexible.

I would say that plan will work with a few caveats.

1) The security wont let you on the boulevard after about 8:00 am unless you have a parking pass. Solution: Come early, or park on the West side of campus where the walk isn't too far.

2) It does get pretty territorial on the boulevard, especially if you setup on the edges next to the parking spaces. Solution: This sounds weird, but there is no rule against it - setup in the middle of the grass strip. I remember last year some TCU fans did that.

Hope to see you guys there.

i was worried about intruding on the Mustangs Territory. Dont want to set up and be intruding on someone.

Please fight through my lack of understanding.

So that strip of yellow on the map that say general tailgating off to the right of the BLVD. That is a grass area right?

So if understand you right the people who pay to park on the BLVD get first digs on the grass area adjacent to it?

i really appreciate it. I am trying to coordinate 20 people and need to make sure I have a spot and not a clusterf*ck when everyone shows up

rjhiii,
A previous post on here stated they would let you on the blvd put you would have to let your stuff off the go park elsewhere. is that what you are saying?

Trying to gameplan what time i need to get down there.

Also

For those that attended the SMU/NT game tailgating is pretty straightforward. Theres a parking lot and you park there and set up shop. Hence my ignorance with the set up for you guys

I just dont want to get there early set up and find out I am in some reserved area or someones regular area etc

rjhiii,

PLEASE NOTE :: drop-offs are no longer allowed on The Boulevard. Only vehicles with valid parking passes will be allowed access to The Boulevard.

I guess that answers my ?

Odd because the person I contacted at the office told me to do as I described

I don't think they will let you on the boulevard to drop off stuff and then leave. Of course, I can't really confirm since I have a couple of bourlevard parking passes and haven't really had to deal with the security guys.

As far as where to setup, theory is that the south part of the boulevard is free tailgating area. To avoid territorial issues though, I would recommend the grassy areas to the side of the boulevard. In fact, I would be willing to wager that one of the better places to setup is exactly where you see on the map, on the sides at the north end of the boulevard (that is across from the greek tents). The other alternative would be on the other side of the boulevard on the south end. That is area where most here tailgate. They claim part of it is non-alcholic, but I really have never seen it enforced.

Just show up early and drop off. That is what we do and it is not that territorial. There is plenty of space and everyone is welcome. There are also tons of free parking at SMU on game day that requires a 5 minute walk to the stadium.

rjhii and brian,

Many thanks. Sounds like i am on the right path. I see what your saying about the Non-Alcoholic area. That did strike me as odd.

Good looking out

I'm going to head down there at 9am . So if you see a green tent and some guys looking lost thats us.

Good luck to you guys on Saturday. Not sure if the Coogs would help me out this much

We always set up across form the No-Alcohol area across the street at Perkins. Makes a great place to play a little football before the game because I have never ever ever seen anyone actually tailgating in there.
