Don't you mean "if only we can get to 6-6"?

he's wrong. I can read. Unless there is at least one major upset there will be 5 seven win teams and SMU could not go to the New Orleans Bowl with a 6-6 record.

I believe the Coogs running game would not have been so good in the 2nd half if Heywood and Bonds hadn't been hurt. I also believe that the sack in the endzone for 2 points and the ball back around our 40 to midfield would have taken minutes off the board and given us another chance to score.
Call me a sunshiner - I think we will beat Tulsa and Rice in Houston. I have been to 3 losses at Rice stadium in the past few years and I know they have some kind of voodoo on us; however, this team doesn't quit and I think they will be back. Hope Heywood, Bonds, and Henderson can play. I also hope DeMyron is back at full strength. Go Stangs.

Yeah you're right. I'm sure that the reps were just lying to us to make us feel better. 6-6 we are going.

6 and 6 won't get picked ahead of a 7 and 5.

This is what the rep said. Now I am more that positive that the bowl reps know what teams have what records and how many wins a team needs to get to get into a bowl. And if they are standing on our sideline and tell us that we need six wins to go, I'm going to believe them.

Here's my question. What position to you hold that allows you to stand on the sidelines and converse with bowl reps during a game?

Don't believe it until the selection is over.

Not exactly. I was going for more of a Jerry McGuire "my word is stronger than oak" kind of thing.

I had reps from the Cotton Bowl conferencing with me while I was taking a [deleted] this morning and they promised me that if SMU wins 6 they'll take them instead of the Big 12 runnerup.

Are you sure he didn't say "If you go 6-6, NO BOWL wants you"?
