2 years ago 2 was 4-8. not a good year. there were a lot of bad tu teams in the years you talk about. We had a nut named keith burns for 3 years.

In typical SMU fashion, whenever there's anything on the line to play for (like a bowl bid) SMU will find a new and creative way to play just well enough to hyped up (on ponyfans) till next year but just poorly enough to lose.
