Willis is not that stoopid to lose a year and try to win a starting job somewhere else.

Have you seen the ability of some of these guys, even in the big 12, playing with some players. You have got to be kidding, Iowa St. Iowa, Kansas St, Kansas, Oklahoma, that kid is terrible compared to J-Will???????????????????? And he has been there for 10 years??

I guess you like for me to prove you wrong bigdaddy...

IOWA STATE - kid by the name of Bret Meyer who is a very mobile qb...unlike JWill, he is tall and has better ball handling skills. He had a huge off year has his team had a pretty tough big12 schedule.

IOWA - yes Iowa will have a gap at qb next year but JW would end up sitting out and by that time I'm sure they'll have another Drew Tate'esq qb...and there back up was a senior too...Brad Banks was great in that O scheme and his mobility helped that team to the success they've had recently.

KANSAS St. - guess you didn't watch the UT game or have ever heard of a guy by the name of JOEL FREEMAN

KANSAS - I don't know much about but Mark Mangiano would never take JW....sry but the guy won't...KU is a worthy BIG 12 opponent that have earned respect.

OKLAHOMA - Guess you didn't know that the Paul Thompson led sooners are playing for a spot in the Fiesta Bowl..."the guy that's been there for 10 years" has held this team together along wiht Bob Stoops and have found ways to dominate. With the loss of Bomar, AD and an injury to AP OU has found a way to play "team" ball Lets not forget they were 1 win away *coughCHEATING [deleted] PAC 10*cough from being undefeated...I still think they would've beat UT if they weren't screwed...OH, OU needs a qb really bad but JW won't help...he must sit out next year he he packs his bags...

I don't mean to be an [deleted] but no mater what happens, Willis is best suited for SMU. He wuldnt have come here if he didn't want to lead a team to a bowl game and CUSA titles.

And, I'm sorry to say it because I like the kid and his desire, but any player who goes to the media and threatens to transfer twice in one season has some maturity problems. (That his dad got involved with the media also in the first go-round is also a problem.)

Dukie, this is 2006. Players can play wherever they want to. J-Will is a redshirt freshman who just turned 19 I believe Aug. 6th. Very young player and possibly immature like most of the players on the team. Average age to start thinking like an adult is 28 years of age. Do not read too much into the transfer thing, the KID wants to win games with the MAN that came into his home and recruited him. They have a five year date, win or loose. Does any of you know what committment ans loyalty is?

I appreciate the response, but maybe you want to address the points I actually made. Do you think that the end of yesterday's game represents a good or even passable effort at a 2-minute drill? Do you think it is not a problem when a player (and that player's parent) repeatedly make transfer threats in the press?

No threats Duke just a player looking out for his future. Tell me about the future of SMU football the last 22 years. We are on the right track with PB, if not the future looks dark. How do you run a 2-minute drill when 5 linemen cannot block 3 rushing defenders, and that puts 8 defenders in coverage, covering only three receivers we throw the ball to and one of them was hurt. Blake Warren not used, Zack Sledge not used???

This is interesting -- you are very pro-Willis (I am, too), and you try to be pro-Bennett, but your last sentence is the one that tells it all, and those are coaching failures (as is the inability to adjust away from the call-a-play-and-then-look-at-the-sidelines-and-call-another-play-and-use-all-25-seconds-on-the-playclock approach WHEN THERE ARE TWO MINUTES OR LESS LEFT IN THE GAME). Maybe you think we need to just re-shuffle the offensive coaching positions and all will be OK?
