What a great man, brought the NFL to its knees . . . he will be missed, and remembered for a long time to come. God bless his family and welcome him home!
Sports, and all that implies.

He'll be greatly missed by so many. Best to the family.

He only owned two. FC Dallas and Columbus. He was a major force in the rise of soccer in the US. While soccer has not taken a strong hold in the US, it would not even be close to where it is today without Hunt.

I don't know what to say but I feel like I should say something. Lamar was one of a kind. He meant a great deal to sports in general and SMU in particular. Lamar could be in a room and you would never know it. He was so unassuming. I had never talked to him so once I went over to say thanks for all he had done for SMU. He kindly thanked me for the remarks. It was a small thing but it meant a lot to me. Condolences to his friends and family.

Condolenses to SMU'ers everywhere from the Mean Green Nation.

Mr. Hunt was a great man that anyone in the Metroplex, Texas and beyond would admire once they saw what he was all about as a man.

Granted, he was born into the famous Texas oil rich family of Harold Lafayette Hunt which is hardly any semblance of a negative, but my observations of Lamar Hunt from a distance was that he always seemed to conduct himself as he was just one of the boys. Reading some of your posts on his passing only verifies this for many of us who never had the opportunity (and distinct priveledge) of meeting Mr. Hunt personally.

I have known former NT'er and Kansas City Chief great Abner Haynes for many years and any conversation I had with him about Lamar and Norma Hunt would be lavished with nothing but extreme high praise from Abner for the entire Hunt family. One would have to consider Abner Haynes as a charter member of the Lamar Hunt Fan Club (had there been such).

We all get a tad silly (sometimes sophmore'ish) with each other with our school's private school/public school differences, but today I believe we would all admit to being on the same page when it comes to all of our admiring a great SMU alum and Texas icon, ie, Mr. Lamar Hunt.

So all our fervent prayers go to Norma Hunt and family during their time of bereavement.
