Great clip!
Reminds me a lot of the last SMU-Tech game. Well, except for the part where SMU scores.
But the Tech highlights looked similar......

I have that play on video and still enjoy watching it. I recall that the Tech bench was rushing onto the field anticipating the end of the game as the kickoff was being fumbed by Smith and the Tech coaches had to waive them back off the field so Leach could race by!
The Tech coach was so devasted he locked himself in the locker room and wouldnt talk to the press for almost an hour after the game.
One of our vendors was on that Tech team and we've talked about this game before. He is shown, but not named, in the video around the 1:35 mark catching a TD.
He was in the office today and I showed him this clip. He confirmed that it is from the Tech year-end recap video. He remembered that they were very excited, of course, about getting the great John Facenda to narrate it for them. Said he was going to go back to the office and send the link to a bunch of his teammates. ![]()

Dreaming of one day coaching the Mustangs. While I believe him, I’m pretty sure Chad also said he grew up a mustang fan in his intro speech.
Re:
It is Jack Dale.
Re: SMU vs Texas Tech 1982Right and that wasn't a Texas Tech produced video it was part of an annual Humble Radio Network "SWC Highlights" video that played at the Texas State Fair every year-Jack Dale was the Texas Tech announcer for Texas Tech games on the Humble Radio Network
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: SMU vs Texas Tech 1982
