Now wait a minute, all they did was recognize this team's Jekyll and Hyde personality, which you know has been true over Bennett's tenure, even as we've gotten more competitive of late (see, NTSU last year). The fact is, there is no such thing as a gimme win for SMU even still. Don't bash people for recognizing that.

That was exactly my point. Why should I be ashamed to admit that we have to take every opponent seriously because we are not an elite team?

First game of the season for UT: Arkansas State Indians at University of Texas Longhorns at Austin......Well, this game is not a trap game wouldn't you agree ?

We should not be looking at the schedule predicting wins or loses

Now that I realize that ASU is a trap game, I wonder if we might go
0-4 in NC. My pet fear has been about Dodgeball at UNT. Tech and TCU are strong teams who will be favored over us anyway. Add to all of that the fact that t PB does not have a good record in September and you justifiably can say that SMU can't assume that any game is a win until it happens.

Hence me saying don't predict the record

SMU doesn't either. It's been traditionally bad, not just under Bennett.

So I guess North Texas is the front side of this 'trap' scenario? I know you lost last year and all, but ... really??

Deepellum- Just like the SMU game is a trap game for TCU. But after two years ago where our win was the loss of the year, I kind of doubt it.

Well the NTSU game last year should keep us alert this season and we should not have any "play not to lose" games so we can protect the confidence of our freshman QB or whatever.
Also, Ark St. lost a lot from last season.
Having said that, we could lose, but I do not think so.
Go Ponies!! Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad

We will have to see how Bennett handles games that should be won and if he can keep the team playing one game at a time, while not looking ahead or behind. The Mavericks, Cowboys, Hornfrogs or anyone can be beaten if they don't look only at the next game and realize there are no gimmies. With the shape of the football, I would not bet on a football game...so many bounces go the wrong way...Go Mustangs!!!

It is true that we needed that to comeback, but I was at that game, and it was 17-7 at halftime in favor of us. We whipped their tails th e entire game... even memphis fans would admit that.
On another note, I can only hope that you guys don't destroy us again this year.
We are definitely a different team at home, where Roberts is about .800 since he has been here.

Is that the required standard, elite team? I misunderstood. I thought even elites had trap games.
And to Nacho's original point that all teams are trap games for us, it's simply not true and is therefore gratuitious bashing and therefore worthy of scorn and condemnation by all SMU fans. Yes, even those fans without "expectations."

Have only 20% of your OOC been home games?
