This is not a good thing! Ya the kid probabl deserved to get the sh*t knocked into him, but use your brain, not at a meeting. Now PB has to face a decision. This shows a huge lack of discipline in his program. And what is to happen to the kid who started the fight??????
Kids not showing up to meetings???? and how long has bennett been the coach? Looks like he is no different then most other coaches. All they care about is winning and not teaching kids the skills they need to survive in the real world. and the other coaches just let it happen? Seems like a low class program to me. Looks like nothing has changed since cavans was here. Kids still have egos and think they can do whatever they want.
So I suppose you think it would be better if Muse had waited and started a fight out on campus somewhere. My coach welcomed this type of behavior because it signaled that the team was ready to grow and move to the next level. What a shame that our players have egos. Maybe it would be better if they all just sat around and sang Kumbyah. I want players with big egos that think they are as good or better than the other guy. You want a lesson for life? Show up on time when you have a meeting. Probably one of the most important lessons you will ever learn. Our linebacker coach ran the off season workout program and it was brutal. We did not have the facilities for everyone to workout at once so we came at various assigned times. The time to arrive was never 2:30, 2:45, or 3:00. It was 2:41, 3:11, and 3:27 and such. It was emphasized the importance of being on time in respect to the disciple one must have to win. If you were late you did not have to worry about getting in a fight. You would not be around anymore to get into one. I can assure you this is not the first fight between teammates nor will it be the last. They will move on and the team will be better for it.
i guess you've never played football... or been apart of an organized team... things like this take place... the problem when PB first came in was he had all of Cavan's guys who were used to not being held accountable. The Cavan era was completely different then PB's. PB has been able to get these players to believe in him and believe and what he's doing with the program. Now the players who have spent the last 4-5 years with him won't let a few guys walk around with their heads up their @sses thinking their [deleted] doesn't stink. hopefully this will humble wilton a little bit, and for the freshmen and sophmore on the team, they will see that everypone will be held accountable for their actions even if they're a 3 year starter. the only way this program is going to go anywhere is by everyone doing the little things, because if we can't do them there's no way we can be a top 25 team.... The most valuable lesson shown in this situation is some tough love. Now, the way we'll know if it's a sign of the team being ready to grow is whether or not things turn out the way they've always turned out over the last 10 years or so, and ya'll know what I'm talking about.
...that is, usually something like this happens, and instead of a bonding experience or whatever, the next thing we hear of it is a thread entitled, "McCray gone," and posts saying stuff like "transferring to NW St." If this truly is a team of the right kind of guys, they will have become closer, and McCray will thrive in the fall.
and this is nt the first time their has been a fight between players... we ussed to have guys get in each other's face all the time. i can remember a fight during summer workouts in the pool of all places, between don and melvin when emotions were high... it's like having you're brother whoop ur butt for doing something stupid, he's still ur brother and you would still do anything to help him if he was introuble. you just want to know that when you go to battle in the trenches the guy next to you is with you all the way

your an idiot! Period! If you think this was a good thing. First, dont recruit dumb [deleted] that are not accountable. second, what is that teaching the kid that started the fight? Ya great, the other kid needed a wake up call! But, you cant go around in life starting fights witha dumb [deleted] teamate or co-worker just cause they are [deleted] heads!
Problem here is Bennett has to be held accountable now for how he deals with this action. If he lets it go, then he is a [deleted] up coach that is allowing what cavan did. There are ways to teach a kid accountablilty other then kicking the [deleted] out of him. Players are players, coaches are coaches, know your [deleted] roll! if the kid cant figure out how to be accountable, then let him go! cant save them all. But, if your going to do it YES! do it somewhere where the coaches cant see! use your brain!
If paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, and scissors beats paper, what beats all 3 at the same time? Answer: Corey Muse

First see if you can put a sentence together without being censored. Second, coaches thrive on this. They want kids who will take charge and "fight" literally or figuratively on behalf of their teammates. 2-a-days are usually highlighted with fights between players. Many times a good fight will signal the end of practice by letting the coaches know the kids are to that "point" to which they try to take them. Sure I wish the fight had not occured. That would have meant the player had enought respect for his teammates to show up on time. But it did happen and I have not heard yet of a massive team walkout. Muse and McCray will more than likely be on the field together a lot and they will hopefully know that each has the other's back.
thanks mrydel. and anyone who thinks this doesnt happen at the power house school's you're wrong WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
we desire to be a power house, so these fights are sign of wanting to get better i suppose. the fight was not due to lack of discipline, it was a senior player supporting the head coach's point of being on time. he is a captain, he's doin what a captain should do. would u rather of had cmuse not do anything? or do what he did? the answer is obvious
