Thank god that ridiculous logo is gone. Maybe the hike in Boulevard parking spot costs will go toward updating the Moody scoreboard that has that embarrassing look on each side.

"...change the colors and the logos every two years. Guess this will last at least 8-9 months until we have a new football coach (who will probably prefer Carolina Blue)."
Couldn't have said it any better myself, bergermeister
I think we change school colors, logos, & uniforms more than all the schools combined! Just another example of a rudderless ship at float.
Shoot - let's just go with UCLA powder blue
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Yeah, with red helmets, we'd look just like the Carter Cowboys. Looks
better than what we got now.

I know... I couldn't believe they put that ridiculous log on our beautiful new scoreboard. It's bad enough that it's on the website.

I'm really glad the students want us in a better conference. We had never thought of that. Good idea. Keep 'em coming. Should we join the Big 12 or SEC? Which does Buffy prefer?

Um...read the article...the students aren't cited as wanting a better conference. They just are "interested in having strong rivalries in conference."
The next paragraph, dealing with an alumni focus group, said "They expressed a desire to have a better conference profile than SMU currently has."

OK maybe I misread it. Sorry for the response. Who do you think our strongest rival in C-USA is? I'm going with Rice. Not too exciting is it. I can see their disappointement but what are we going to do about it? Would UNT be our best rival if we added them? What if TCU came back? There is no easy answer to this problem as far as I can see. Rivals aren't invented. They have to be developed over time.
Once on the tv show Coach, Luther called up another school and asked if they wanted to be their rival. That coach responded that they already had a rival. Pretty funny exchange.

I agree...Rice is our top rival in CUSA. TCU would probably be our best rival if they came back...UNT would definetely like us to be their rival, but rivalries have to go both ways.
I think we have the potential to develop a rivalry with Tulsa, as both schools are small and private (same with Tulane). Houston and UTEP could become rivals as well. We certainly have a history of competing with UH in the SWC and UTEP in the WAC.
Time will tell if we will develop rivalries with any of our other conference mates.

Also, when are they going to redesign smumustangs.com? They need to get that hideous logo out of the header.

if Rice is now our top Rivals for the 21th Century-just shoot me now and put me out of my misery. Actually since Rice has dominated the series shoot a Rice fan and put him out of his misery.

Stallion who do you think our top rival in C-USA is? I'm not sure we even have one but if we do I have to go with Rice. I really think TCU is our top rival but they aren't in our conference, which was the question. Depressing.

With the demise of the arched logo, the mural at Texadelphia is going to have to get a facelift!

I'm just impressed and happy with the fact that on a regular basis members of the athletic department are taking the time to connect with the fans and alumni left that still care, and letting them know hey, we hear you, thanks for your input. We appreciate having it.
