Guessing they would rather beat a BCS big 12 school then a mid-major cusa school. They get nothing for beating us.
I think it probably has more to do with the Big 12's TV contract vs. CUSA's. Notre Dame fans were FURIOUS when some of them were unable to watch their game against Air Force, which was on CSTV.

I wish I had known. They could have come to my house.

They could call it a "home" game for ND and it goes on NBC. And CSTV is now CBS, ya think CBS wouldn't mind picking up a ND game?

Theis is the '07 ND football schedule:
GT
Penn St
Michigan
Michigan St
Purdue
UCLA
BC
USC
Navy
Air Force
Duke
Stanford
A typical BCS schedule.
Baylor would replace one of the non-BCS schools.

Apparently not, since they keep getting re-invited to the BCS game...yet, even in 2005 season, the combined winning percentage of the teams that they beat was HORRIBLE (though, they should have beaten USC that year).

Isn't it obvious why they are invited to big bowl games? Big name + big following + big TV ratings = lots of $$.
And to think, I never had one math class at SMU...

Got to disagree some here. Last year in their 13 games played the Irish faced 5 teams who did not go to a bowl. While some of those teams were downright awful last season (Stanford, Mich. St., UNC, Air Force, Army were the 5 FYI), none them are like the North Texas, Central Michigan, Sam Houston, ULaLa, Northern Illinois, West Carolina games scheduled by many top programs. Also, remember some games are set far in advance while teams are better or worse than they are when the games are actually played. Teams like those 5 non-bowl opponents ND faced always have the potential to be good, whereas some other cupcakes don't.
Also, of ND's 3 losses last season they came at the hands of the #3,4, and 8 teams in the country. All three losses being to top 10 teams. More than a couple 3 loss teams finished ahead of the Irish with losses coming outside of the top 10. I don't think they were overrated unless you compare to their preseason rankings (#2 or 3 I think) which are a sham anyhow.

ND leads USC 42-29-5 all-time. For your submission and review USC fan. Everyone has an opinion but facts win.

Since 2 of those losses are in the past 2 years, how many of the other 29 are in the last 40?
Sir, shooting-star, sir. Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.

What does '05 have to do with anything?
You tried to take a cheap shot and were factually incorrect. Admit your mistake and move on.

CSTV is owned by CBS, but they are not the same. Their programming has remained completely separate. If CBS was going to pick up ND/Baylor or ND/SMU, they probably would've picked up ND/AFA.[/i]

I was in a hurry this morning and found the '05 record quickly. I couldn't remember if they played last year. Sorry I didn't have time to do the complete research that gave you 2 extra games in the series. I try to be as factual as I can when giving out data. You are right. I made a mistake. ND leads the series but give USC the 2 extra games. There are so many outrageous "facts" given out here such as the one about ND that I feel compelled to set the record straight. Truth be told I am a USC fan. I also like ND. No axe to grind either way. I just wanted to set the record straight about who leads in the series since it was grossly misrepresented by another poster. I had no idea who lead in the series until I looked it up. Again sorry for the error.

Haha, yeah, ok bro. I understand that the win-loss ratio is in ND's favor. But how many games has Notre Dame won vs USC in the past 5 years? Or the past 10 years? Recent history says a lot more about ND today than their record vs SC in the 1930's.
