In my opinion, in my humble opinion

if carrington is in fact leaving, this makes our defense even more suspect than it already was in the middle. i hope this is a false rumor

Doesn't SMU just seem like a revolving door? Players just keep leaving. Is this the same everywhere else. We keep losing our top guys or players with an enormous upside to them. Who's to blame???

Maybe he's just moving to TE.

This happens everywhere. You'll always get some roster turnover. Look at UT. They had two lineman leave and then that safety who was arrested announced he was transferring.

Really if you are more in tune with your program than others, you'll note the changes, but if you follow athletics, it happens.

We're not alone.

Patton is exactly right. Contrary to popular belief, kids leave the team and the school every year at every school.

We just don't have the depth that teams like UT and others have, therefore it is a harder pill to swallow.

I disagree. With the level of expectation at each school I think it's relative. UT is trying to win National Championships, SMU is trying to get to bowl. In a few years, it might be different. Anytime any team loses a scholarship player it's a tough pill to swallow.

I see where you are coming from, but most likely Mac can replace a 4 star starter with another 4 star player who has game time experience. A luxury we don't have. Granted we don't have to line up against the OU's of the world each weekend.....

But I see the program moving that direction... as long as the administration stays out of the way.

Why would you go through spring training only to quit 1 and half months later?? If his heart is not in it we don't want him. We need guys who eat and sleep football. Best of luck to Carrington, he was a good player.

I agree with ponydawg. Wasn't Carrington a defensive captain last year? I agree other schools lose players, but how many lose such a vital part?

OU lost a starting O lineman a week before the TCU game two years ago. He just walked away.

This is all so much speculation.. of course that's why this board seem to be here.

Let the paint dry and let's see if he's really gone or not.
