Not really since I'll be watching the game at home on TV.

Red will blend the Tech fans with the SMU crowd come opening day. Our stadium... they have to do the blending.

There is something not quite right about that.

on other store shelves, St. Bernard Sports (Lovers & Inwood behind the theatre) had SMU t-shirts and hats a few months back.
i picked up a white one w/ blue pony (none of the 'tricked up' nonsense typical of today's merchandise)
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

That's rather encouraging. Hate the tricked-up crap people are selling these days. (Got a new hat off the Spirit Shop link from the home page of this site. Arrived Monday, and I can't get it off my son's head. Looks like I'm going to be ordering more.
But I'll also go check St. Bernard Sports next time I'm over that way. Thanks for the heads-up.

John D. Morton, Chief Operating Officer David J. Campisi, President The Sports Authority, Inc. 1050 W. Hampden Ave. Englewood, CO 80110
Dear Messrs. Morton and Campisi:
I was recently in your Frisco, Texas location looking for sports merchandise with the SMU Mustang logo on it. I was told by a friend that another Dallas, Texas location had some SMU merchandise so I erroneously assumed that other nearby Sports Authority locations would also have SMU merchandise.
The Frisco, Texas location had no SMU merchandise, which while disappointing was not totally unexpected. While Frisco is a suburb of Dallas, it is 20 miles from SMU and The Sports Authority location where I was told there was SMU merchandise. I also understand that SMU is not the largest university in Texas and despite its football team being bowl eligible for the first time since 1997, it does not have a recent history of success.
I asked the manager if there was any SMU merchandise. The manager (I did not get her name) stated that The Sports Authority only caries the local teams. Puzzled, I asked whether or not she considered SMU to be a local school. She responded by stating that her store only carried the “Dallas†schools, and while she did this, she lifted her hands and made a little quote sign with her fingers. Rather than carry on a clearly useless conversation, I chose to leave the store.
Please ensure that your employees have a basic understanding of the market in which they work. While SMU may not be the largest or most successful NCAA Division One football or basketball team in the state of Texas, it is certainly the only one in Dallas and is the closest NCAA Division One university to the Frisco, Texas store. Further, there are many alumni like myself willing to purchase SMU merchandise; however, don’t expect me to purchase anything from a store that employs people that can’t even name the closest college football team to their store. I expect more from a store that boldly proclaims itself to be “The Sports Authority.â€

The SMU bookstore has had SMU merchandise in stock every time I've visited. I recommend it for those interested in SMU gear. I think they even have a web presence for those not close.
