You can say, hey don't smoke in my car. Don't smoke around me. If these guys don't have the cojones to tell their peeps to keep the dope at home, then why are they playing football. Its called setting a positive example.

But THEY can. They should know the rules they have to follow (which I am sure they do), and they shouldn't put themselves in a position that jeopardizes that.

Do you realize how prevalent pot is in college? ESPECIALLY AT SMU! I'm just saying don't assume that all of them were guilty, because several were found to be innocent.

Take off the UT hate glasses for those two incidents.

Pot is prevalent in college, unfortunately. Assuming that is equally prevalent at both campuses, which is hard to disprove or prove either way, shows that Austin cops just don't like the UT players like the Dallas cops like the SMU players, UT players draw more attention from the police to themselves than SMU players, thus the UT players get caught more, or some combination of the two.

Three hot girls walk out onto the fourth floor balcony of the Peach Pit (or Peach Palace, depending on your era at SMU) - the Peach Pit/Palace being the apartment complex right across from the law school. Hey... is it still there? ... Where was I? Oh yeah...

Three hot girls walk out onto the fourth floor balcony, my balcony, okay it was public, but that's where I first started smoking.... cigarettes.

Hot Girl - Do you mind if we smoke out here?
Thaddeus - C'mon ladies, I mean, I'm smoking out here!
Hot Girl - .... No, do you mind if we smoke out here?
Thaddeus - Oooohhhh.... No - not at all, be my guest.

Thaddeus, being a film maker and all, I'm sure you would like to think of yourself as being on the leading edge....but hey, pot has been around since....oh...try forever....but lest you think I don't care, I think you are a cool dude who does indeed make really cool films!

I would like to think of myself as a lot of things... but in actuality, I've been through a big fat juicy longer than I care to think about depression... and I have been finally coming out of it for the last nine months. But it's nice just to finally, truly, think of myself as a filmmaker again.

http://www.doublelifefilms.com/

That just went live 7 hours ago... I need to do some editing of the site this week...

Plus this weekend, and in the coming weeks, I will be adding content, video, etc. So don't expect too much right this second....... I will do an actual thread in a few weeks about the site, see my films, etc.

(If you guys have constructive criticism, bring it.)

But yeah, I am not the first to have been offered pot............ and what makes me extremely humble on the subject is that I was stupid enough to start smoking cigarettes as an excuse for not joining my friends to smoke the reefer. Why? ... I knew that I had an addictive personality and I didn't want to lead myself down the primrose path... so what did I do? I chose the most addictive thing on the planet. I am a doofus.

Yes.. I edited 'sucker' to 'doofus', but both apply....

And for the record I did smoke with the girls - take that for whatever you want it to mean. Hey, I'm mean I was smoking out there, right? Though, [sigh] it still didn't help me 'befriend' the lovely ladies.

:(

I think I went to bed early that night. Okay, I know I did.

From my Aggie co-worker:

Thanks for the update on those mischievous kids in Austin…..oh well… punks will be punks.

We have to admit the Horns have a practically insurmountable lead over the Ags and the rest of the Big 12 in Felony Arrest…..I understand the tu band is working on a stirring rendition of ‘Jailhouse Rock’ as an alternative to their less contemporary fight song.

Sportswriters report the latest play the Horns now run from their new ‘no huddle ‘ offense (some silly rule about ‘probies’ being unable to associate with other felons) is called “Jailbreak”… they snap the ball and everyone scatters…..40 yard dash times improved dramatically after Mack piped in the sounds of crashing glass, alarm bells, and shots being fired. An unnamed back said running with the ball is a breeze, pointing out ‘it’s a lot lighter than a TV’.

The tu Athletic Director, Delouse Dodd announced today that tu’s annual game in Dallas with ou, formerly promoted as the “Red River Shoot out”, has changed its name for obvious reason. The new corporate sponsor, Correction Corporation of America, has insisted that henceforth the brawl…uh….game, be known as the ‘Rehabilitation Bowl’ . At half time all current and former Perps.... uh … players, will make an appearance on the field with their probation officers…..space available. The combined bands will then play that sentimental classic, “We’ll be home for Christmas…..if only in our dreams”. It sure brings a tear to my eye even now. Gig’em.

You should remind your Aggie co-worker about the 13 players arrested in ONE YEAR a couple of years ago.

If I were a UT fan, I would. But he supports SMU as his team here in Dallas so I let him get by with his Aggie smack.

Now all you need is to get one of your movies shown at the Drafthouse.

Thad - I went to a White Ghost Shivers Show at the Austin Museum fundraiser a few months ago. The wine was flowing but from what I remember they are a good act.

When will then be now? Soon.

They are indeed. Good stuff, and it should be a decent video.... but we're doing it on no budget since they are embarking on their first European tour in October. It'd be nice to have a budget, but what are you going to do?
