I sure hope he's not going to be a backup the whole year...if that's the case, I wouldve much rather had him redshirst, get in shape, and have a chance to contribute more as a starter next year. We're pretty thin at DT, I know, but from what I've heard he should be one of our most talented DT's, if he's going to play, I'd like him to start

He looks a little like a hybrid of Brandon Bonds and Adrian Haywood — he can hold his ground against big blockers in the running game, and also has a burst that should let him get into the backfield and make plays. Pretty quick and pretty good pursuit for a big guy — coaches love 300-pound guys who can move. He also has very strong hands, which he uses pretty effectively to keep blockers from locking on to him too tightly. How fast he gets comfortable in the defense remains to be seen, but it appears some real tools are there.

To say the least. Elizee really hit the books hard this summer, and performed well in the classroom. Techsan-81 wrote:Anytime you're dealing with the NCAA on something like this you can expect delays, illogical rulings, and general BS. But I guess I'm preaching to the choir here...
Yes you are! Couldn't say I expected a favorable ruling, but it sure is nice.

By "back up" it's my understanding that we will be rotating our line quite a bit, especially against Tech, which AVERAGES 6' 6" 330 on their O-Line, so he'll see plenty of playing time regardless.

WELCOME SERGE !!! This will really help our DL as it puts another quality athlete ( big & quick ) in the DL rotation. Now that this pressure of not knowing is off this young mans shoulders, I think you will see him really develope as part of the DL.
