The DT's weren't called on to stop the run very often. Leonard did have a few nice tackles and a sack. Otherwise, there was virtually no pass rush without the blitz. As I said previously, we looked like a bunch of midgets trying to play against grown men.

Why were we trying to go one on one on the passing game in the red zone? That was easy points for Tech.

McCann made some play-however, his man often made better plays as he gave us a lot of receptions today. He wasn't a shutdown corner today. He's got plenty of room for improvement.

Bright spot - unrelated to football - in my opinion is the new and upgraded PA system. First time in several years that I have actually heard the PA's voice not sounding like it came from a Mr. Microphone system.

We're in no hurry--We're SMU! Maybe next year we only lose by 30. It normally takes 20+ years to build winning season, right? I know Utah, Boise State, TCU, UTEP, Hawaii, Fresno State only took a few years, but we like to take our time. Pony Up! I can't wait for the 2017 season--we should be bowl bound.

Agreed! I'll be the first to say Tech has more size and raw talent than we. I will also say there was no reason for us to lose by 40 points. Our team seems to be confused out there. Once again!

I also know Oklahoma had more size and man for man talent than Boise State. The difference is coaching. Coach Bennett seems to be a great guy and is getting better athletes to come to SMU. He, doesn't seem to know what to do with them once they put the jersey on.

3 for 3 in the redzone.
Punting (47 yd avg)
Kicking (3 for 3 from 35-40 yds)

Only two turnovers and no fumbles

2-2 on 4th down conversions

Didn't Chase fumble at the end of the 3rd around the 10. Willis also had a fumble on a scramble that he recovered. And Sanders had a fumble on the first punt in the 1st quarter.... but if we forget about those, then I would agree it would be a bright spot.

I thought DeMyron looked decent in the first half-went back to tippy-toeing a couple of times in second half. Didn't get the ball because of the score-but he did run hard in the first half.

My bad. There was a fumble by Chase. Strike that. Trying to look for silver linings. 3 TOs = not good.

Very true. In the first half he looked like the DeMyron from the TCU game. The second half looked like last year all over again.
