Is it true things are indeed "Bigger" in Texas??

Yes, but often that's just because things are manufactured bigger in Texas.

Perkins is a very liberal institution. Asbury is much more conservative.

are you looking at Candler too? I've met several who had Candler & Perkins as their top two choices. Most went to Perkins.

Yes I am, but I am worried Candler may be too far away. Also remotely looking at Duke. Its just I dont like the way their graduates flaunt their degrees over there...

Perkins is in the shadow of the largest Methodist church congregation in the United States...Highland Park United Methodist Church...on the southwest corner of the S.M.U. campus.

If you were to choose Perkins, you would be welcome with open arms at HPUMC, as a member of the congregation. And, who knows?...you might become a minister there someday, too!

Look forward to hearing that you've chosen Perkins at S.M.U.!

SMU has a broad range of other athletic programs. The men's basketball team is up and coming. The women's basketball team is always respectable. Woman's volleyball is also available. Men's soccer is one of the best in the nation. There is also women's rowing and women riding horsies and minor stuff like that. Perkins in next to the art school and across from a major dorm complex. So Perkins is not isolated from the campus.

Well im finishing up some stuff on that soon. My goal is to visit the campus sometime within the next month and a half. The rush of football season has gotten to me and has distracted me away from doing work on that

Hopefully you can arrange your visit to coincide with an SMU home football game. The Mustangs' home games during the next month and a half are on Sept. 29 (UTEP), Oct. 20 (Tulane) and Nov. 10 (Rice).
